Sept. UGC Wins? Share! I’ll go first…
Share something from this week or month that was a huge win for you in your UGC business! Even if you just made a small step towards getting started—post it below! Remember, engaging boosts your level into unlocking more resources in this group! My win of the month: >>Booking my first high ticket retainer doing social media management and content creation as a partial face of the brand for a Moroccan beauty brand. I met the client on UpWork where my profile is top rated for UGC. I had a profile for product photography as well. She bought a package needing Amazon product photography, a UGC ad bundle, and social media photos. That relationship turned into her hiring me to be her full time social media manager, but with a more complex role— creating content with my face and likeness to fill her feed, which you can charge more for. It’s not just being a SMM, it’s being a Social Brand Manager & Primary UGC creator. This gig allows me to stop chasing lots of tiny UGC deals. Now I focus on UGC deals that are “worth my time” (about $250+ per collaboration). I know it’s not for everyone, but I happen to love to create content and make things look aesthetic so curating social platforms for a brand that I’m interested in is a huge win for me. It allows me to use my passions in photography, videography, graphic design, and UGC all combined. I recommend anyone who has an interest in being a social media manager to build relationships with their UGC clients especially the ones that aren’t using an agency to hire their UGC creators. I’ve met a lot of these kinds of brand owners on UpWork. I’ve been collecting Moroccan decor so I can bring in local friends to model and help create UGC. I posted on FB to find local people wanting to model / create content. I got so many responses. I’ll be working on growing this brand, increasing their sales, and hopefully building out a full UGC team that will eventually pay standard UGC rates! Can’t wait to hear your wins!

@Cori Padgett-Bukowski Awesome! How long have you been doing UGC Cori?
Hi me again haha
What’s your thoughts on BRAND MEETS CREATORS? I made a profile and used their suggested rates because they said I would have better luck landing gigs but honestly kind of not feeling the vibe on that platform 5 videos for 25? I might delete the profile but before I do would love to hear your feedback!

@Breanna Gonzalez I didn’t know they had requirements now. Have you tried your Instagram? I don’t use my TikTok for InSense

@Riki Cole this definitely deserves a full training, but my schedule is limited right now. The advice I can give you for a comment would be this: Make sure you’re tailoring your pictures to each brand. So let’s say that this was for a dog food product. Instead of listing a bunch of generic things you can provide the brand like versatile assets, lifestyle, photos, etc. try pitching them on a funny or cool trend that you’ve seen in this niche like the narrator trend. Brands want a specific vision for how you wanna showcase their product. When you’re pitching brands, you should really think of yourself as a strategist and social content creator. They want marketing and strategy to come through in your pitches. And if you have any other social proof or proof of your past campaigns or even views and likes you received on non-UGC content insert some sort of proof that you create content that converts. For example, I relied heavily on my virality with my fiancé and how we hit 100 million views last fall. Lastly, use ChatGPT by copying anything you have from the brand whether it’s a brief, a website, a product link in ChatGPT to write you a pitch incorporating the feedback I just gave you. You can even ask ChatGPT how to enhance your pitch. Hope this helps!
Good morning!!!
I have a question I got an inbound for a curtain company that I honestly would love to accept a gifted collab but would it be cheesy to ask for them to send me the hardware like the curtain rod + the curtains or should I just take the gifted collab of just the curtains and come out of pocket for the hardware? Help lol

If they have the hardware I would ask for it. If their brand doesn’t make it maybe ask them to reimburse that cost and just sell them on how amazing your content will be if that’s taken care of.

@Breanna Gonzalez YAYYY!!!
UGC Burnout is Real.
I want to talk about burnout today because it’s something every creator faces at some point. This morning, I attended my two boys T-ball game and the plan was to grind through as much content as I could today when I got home. I have so many open collaborations right now and products are arriving every day recently. I was emailed by UGC Factory and took on a deal with them for what I thought would be $300 per brief. (That is actually the average rate I’m used to taking for an agency that just raw footage for one script.) After receiving the brief I was shocked at how much footage they were asking for. I saw enough content to make six concepts. At first I thought oh am I making $300 for each of these six scripts? When they first emailed me, they said that they wanted to work with me long-term sending me five briefs a month. So I went back to their playbook I realized I had missed the part where it said that they ask for 10 to 15 B roll along with 3 to 5 scripts and that is considered one brief. I got back from my son’s T-ball game and ate lunch and just immediately felt tired so much that I had to take a nap feeling guilty that I was sleeping instead of utilizing this Saturday that I don’t have my children with me to start cranking out UGC that’s due over the next week. But even waking up from the nap I still felt so tired and the thought of all the content due that is making me feel burnt out right now. I had to take a real hard look at the situation and say: what do I need to do? I realized that I need to put myself first because I’m such a people pleaser and I’m so used to just pushing through everything. So, because I didn’t sign a contract with them and all I received was the product, I decided to write them and say that I was withdrawing from the project. I even offered to pay for the products if it was going to be a big deal. The truth is you may get to a point where you’re not necessarily hurting for work or money and when you feel that resentful energy coming up because you’re being asked to do more than what you think is fair for the price. You have to make some tough calls.
UGC Burnout is Real.
