Shadow on the American Archtop
Yes, I know this isn't Misty. But while working on Misty, I glanced over at my American Archtop and realized it had been neglected. So I decided to try Shadow again, perhaps slowing down the entry motif "The shadow of your smile...". The big box booms a bit, but delivers a nice sound I think. Now, back to Misty. 😎https://youtu.be/TN7GnQwXn5o

That sounded great @Mentor Alan Easterling !
A Walk to Ceasarea
I've been off for a while. Not playing anything, not practicing, doing other things - like reading a book or 25. I wasn't stuck or disheartened or anything dramatic, just away for a bit. After getting my guitar serviced this week, I had to see how it was doing and so I recorded this, again. I had some issues syncing the darn thing and of course there are always flubs, which is OK 'cause I'm not submitting it to the Grammy Committee eh? Also, the pic-in-pic runs on forever after the tune ends - I never thought to check that when editing and I laughed out loud when I saw it on YouTube so I left it in. Don't bother watching that, there is no surprise, other than the fact that there is no surprise. https://youtu.be/w1qfPdhaQrM

A quick recording of Blue Bossa
I've had a bit of a rough start to the year with a lot of distractions. @Marc-Andre Seguin suggested I just focus on something fun to get back into it. Here is quick take on Blue Bossa to get started again. https://youtu.be/Wxhb_NGvmwc

@Bradford L Romans Thanks Doc. Yeah I totally think that building up throughout the solo, using dynamics and shifting into higher gear creates drama and tells a better story. Makes the solo more interesting, etc. Definitely something I aspire to do. I find my phrasing and note selection suffers when I try to force it, but it is something I try to work on in practice. There is just so much to think about and yet our goal is not to think too much, right? 🤔 🤣

@Coach Marc-Andre Seguin Thanks Marc! Really appreciate all your tips and kind words. Got your loom about the inside out tune as well, thanks! I'm hoping to figure out some what scales/approaches the guitar player (Barry Finnerty) is using in his longer lines.
Giacomo Turra
If you like funk/rnb… check him out. Amazing player. I mean talk about in the groove 🤯 https://youtube.com/@giacomoturra?si=BiYnZOajMfdsu3ay

@Marc-André Labelle Yeah, right? Amazing that he is that proficient on both bass and guitar. The slap guitar is cool too. He just announced a bunch of US performance dates and is playing at one of my favorite venues in Chicago. Reserved the front center table at City Winery in April, looking forward to seeing him play in person!
