Very good work Nancy, the higher guitar position really seems to me to improve both your wrist and arm positions, you look much more comfortable. You’ve improved grabbing those chord shapes and I think, particularly with Bob’s speed suggestion, you’ll be improving even more very shortly. Reps are your friend with these etudes and working on several at the same time strengthens your stamina both physically and sonically. Keep after them!

https://youtu.be/tvzkBzZvJdM Hello all, here is chord progression #2: II-V-I-VI (in C major) slowed down to 80% speed. In posture news, I tried turning the guitar support pillow on its side to make it taller & so far this feels pretty good. I can keep both feet on the floor instead of having a crossed leg. Mine is the smaller 4 inch, so I've ordered the larger 5.5 inch support to try. I want to say that I really do appreciate those of you who have shown concern and offered advice on my wrist/posture situation.

Your 80% @ 80% Nancy so yup, time to crank it up. I’d offer advice on the way you hold your pick but you look pretty close to both Metheny and Van Halen’s method so who am I to criticize! If you ever begin to feel any discomfort with your wrist or picking proficiency, let us know, everyone will have something to offer.

@Nancy R Very cool! If you ever become interested, there are a number of office hours/community meetings that can be searched for where Marc and most everyone else shows and talks about the pick preferences, positions, and proclivities.

Look at you just walking that bass all around town! I thought I was losing it on the first one cause from your comment I was thinking “there will never be another you?” until the improv came - oh, it’s someone in love, I get it, whew! I’d really like to hear them with the vocalist too so…

@Mentor Bob Kinney I wonder if it’s a blues/rock thing, I certainly did it a lot for those. I also wonder if it means you’re listening to yourself and keeping your own internal time a bit too much and not actually listening to your metronome / drummer enough and trusting/using them to hit that beat. I don’t think it’s necessary a bad thing but it might encourage listening more to take it out more often than not. Just musings.
