Starting anew
Working my way back in to this program by starting with the new jazz guitar academy. Great to see a lot of familiar faces and mentors.
Welcome back Clint. The community is supportive as ever!
Fly Me to the Moon
Been a while. Maybe 11 months? Thought I'd post proof of life. Nothing special. Simple take on Fly me to the Moon. Trying to find a way to work the music back in to my days. Long story short - I've been pulled from University teaching into a more active government role. Hope to resurface in November. In the meantime.... https://youtu.be/y-shB9DYKbY
@Mentor Bob Kinney Thanks very much Bob! Good to be back.
Thanks Casey. Will do more as time permits, but good to be back.
Reviews?
A quick favor to everyone seeing this into the community ... could you click on the "About" page, and leave us a 5-star review? This is the new reviews Skool feature! A 10-30 second chore for you goes a LONG WAY in promoting and making this teaching platform to continue. Thanks! :) https://www.skool.com/jazz-guitar/about

What Casey and Kyle said Joe. Reps in the wood shed. And counting in the wood shed. That does seem to help. It will come. 😎
IF (Hommage to Ralph Towner)
Hey, I haven't posted anything for a long time. The reason: I started playing (after 50 years of always playing alone!!) with a Jazz Combo here in Barcelona (at Taller de Músics), encouraged by Coach @Marc-Andre Seguin. This wouldn't have been possible without everything I've learned here over the past two years. Thank you all so much! I will continue at the JGA, but maybe not as often. I felt like posting my modest tribute to a guitarist (jazz, fusion and many other things) whose music has accompanied me since I was 16: Ralph Towner, who just left us last week. Ralph Towner's music is a constant source of inspiration, also with his now legendary group, Oregon. I'm really sorry for this loss. The last concert he had planned in Barcelona was cancelled, but I was able to hear him a few years ago with the Italian trumpeter Paolo Fresu. Incredible! IF is a piece of his that took me a few days to start playing, and I still have a lot to practice in all its parts. But here it goes!

I think I found a transcription that would work. Let me nose around and see what I can dig up.

I fairly certain I purchased the music at some point but can't really put my finger on it. I do recall it being in drop D tuning. I've included here a link that might take you to an acceptable version. I'll keep looking. https://pdfcoffee.com/sacred-place-ralph-towner-standard-guitar-drop-d-tuning-pdf-free.html
