DCU Account Approved After 3 Denials 🎉
Hey cloud brothers, After 3 denials from DCU Federal Credit Union, my account was finally approved! This time, I didn’t use the conventional online application. Instead, I submitted a paper application via email, and I got approved in just about 2 days. Here’s what you need: - DCU membership application form - Passport - ITIN - Proof of address (a statement with your full name that’s at least 30 days old) In my case, I applied on March 1st and initially submitted a statement from January 1–31, which wasn’t accepted. Still, their response was very quick. P.S.: You need to fill out the form, print it, sign it, scan it, and then upload it to the email address indicated on the form itself. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

@Samim Shaikh Ah okay, I understand. Well, try with the proxy; if not, do it manually. That way you’ll probably get approved. Good luck!!

@Reed Sutton A transfer from my other bank
Sofi (3rd Post) and Navigating Early Warning Alert
Sofi Banking latest updates. Just opened Sofi Account for my spouse with ITIN 90X-XX-XXXX. (6 MONTHS OLD) - Its third time applying Sofi. Gave early warning denial in March twice and used two email address and created two profiles. Why Sofi 1. Accpet US address but accepts W8BEN also. In W8BEN you mention your foreign address. They will issue 1042S on yesr end. All interest income is non taxable for me by IRS after that. No with holdings 2. Have clear status viz. Resident , Non Resident and US citizen in their system 3. Highest Interest in saving for next 6months with Sofi Plus : 4.5% APY. Best to park spare cash in USD. 4. Full online banking with Zelle and Bill pay. Allow Foreign IPs at login with Microsoft authenticator at non trusted logins. 5. Every thing online. Good user experience and decent customer support. 6. FDIC coverage up to $3 M (vs $250k standard). Listed on NYSE. Listing make any company robust. Rare to find increased FDIC insurance. Chase, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo all offer the standard $250,000 FDIC insurance — identical to any other FDIC-insured bank. Just to give better confort. 7. Good process with docusign to submit W8BEN. Impressive. 8. Will taste Credit card later after 2-3 months. 9. You can connect to other Banks account and credit cards in their Sofi Relay portal. Very good dashboard how much money in each bank account and credit cards and see their transactions in one go. I just login to that feature and able to see my Amex and Capital one credit card speding also. Can Not trsut this with any third party software. Trick After being denied on Early Warning system. 1. I have used two email in past. agent told me to remove one profile completely. Help me delete one. 2. Ask them that my ITIN and residential status or address was wrong. They will transfer to new team who will send link to upload passport and ITIN letter. Use this. Force them to make some change to your profile. Make profile cleaner as much as possible 3. Once this team accepts your passport and ITIN. Transfer back to banking team. 4. Ask them I was denied twice in past anything I should be doing differently. Check your profile with them thoroughly. My thought is if they make changes in profile chances of approval next time is high and delete duplicate profiles 5. Use Physical addres non CMRA. Use US IP. 6. Worth making multiple calls to live agent before actually clicking submission. This was key differentiator.

Did you call SoFi to fix the issue, or who did you contact to resolve the identity problem?
Navy Federal Approved After 2 Denials + 1 Appeal 🎉
What’s up, cloud brothers? Just stopping by to share some good news. After 2 denials trying to open an account with Navy Federal Credit Union, plus one appeal that took almost a month (only to get denied again), I finally got approved yesterday. The only thing I did differently this time was skip the automated identity verification and go through the manual verification process. I think that made the difference. On another note, Navy Federal sent me an email saying they couldn’t process my initial deposit using the method I selected during the application. However, since I already have other accounts, I made a transfer myself and today the funds are already in my Navy Federal account with no issues. Now I’m trying to figure out the next move. What would you guys recommend doing next? - Should I go for a credit card right away? - Build some relationship first? - Any specific products with Navy Federal that are worth targeting early?

@Ain - Cloud Resident Yes, I did the pre-approval and only got Reward Cash Secured. I’ll give it a try. Meanwhile I’ll keep using my Amex and Cap1 cards. I’ll build a relationship with the bank like I’m doing with DCU and PenFed haha

I redeemed a Capital Shopping reward for an eBay gift card, but I was never able to use it. I lost the accumulated money, and the service was terrible, they never gave me a reason why it was blocked. Overall, a bad experience. But I’ve seen there are other stores where this might not happen
Suspicious: even without ITIN reporting to Equifax is done
Just tried to access Equifax and myFico since the first statement of my Amex Blue Cash Everday was released. I was able to register and access my credit score at Equifax of 695 and at myFico 698. When taking a deeper dive into details it actually says length of credit history is 7 months. Quite unsure about what happened there, since ITIN is just 3 months old? So the oldest account on file is Bank of America, which I opened indeed 2025, but without an ITIN. Called the hotline afterwards, and the system doesn't recognise my ITIN for verification purposes (first hint). So after talking with an agent he can confirm that there is no ITIN on my Bank of America credit card and I have to go to the branch to add the ITIN. Still, the card is reporting to Equifax somehow, also the historical data from opening until now is provided by the bureaus. The first statement from Amex is also already seeable at the bureaus. Interesting for me: If I check the inquiries, there is just one inquire from Capital One. It was the Platinum, which was shut down a few days after. So my question now: I still have three new accounts on file, but just one hard pull. What will Chase say regarding the current 5/24 rule? Will it be the fourth or second hard inquriry for them?

Your credit history is linked to your first and last name, your date of birth, and your address. Since it syncs that way, your file may be linked to your passport if you opened your credit card using it. So I recommend that you contact both the bank and the credit bureaus so they can update your information.
