Chase branch Las Vegas experience.
Hi everyone, So, after failures in Chase branches in San Francisco and Washington DC ( System outage in DC ) I finally got a Chase checking account ( The one with the $4.95 monthly fee ) in a Las Vegas branch. Luckily my new BofA checking account generated a statement last week with a workable Anytime Mailbox address. I also applied for the Freedom Unlimited credit card, and despite my banker pushing it to be approved on the spot, the application has gone into review. But my banker is confident that it wilk be approved by next week. He also took copies of my BofA statement, passport, and i had to sign some forms, including the W8 Ben form. I was at the branch for 1 hour and 15mins. The banker was very patient and friendly. ( I have attached a copy of his digital business card, in case anyone is going to Las Vegas lol ) And that's it for my American banking adventure. I think it was a productive trip, as i have signed up with BofA, Wells Fargo and Chase. I know for some nationalities, it is difficult to get a US visa, and USA is an expensive country to visit. But if you have the $$$ and time, and your passport is powerful, i highly recommend that you all come to America and get everything done in a branch. The experience is so much easier and less stressful.

Nice! Which CMRA did you use for Wells Fargo? I struggled with my two addresses with them and wasn’t able to open an account with WF
NY Application for Non-Driver ID
Soon I will be in the US again and gonna have plans to go to the NY DMV and apply for a Non-Driver ID. I will be on ESTA. What I read here, it is quite easy and if you go with a standard, then you don't even need proof of address. Anyway there is also the option to go for REAL ID with proof of address. What I found is following: What does "TEMPORARY VISITOR" mean? A Temporary Visitor is defined as anyone who is not immigrating to or not permanently residing (living) in the United States. These visitors have US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) documentation that supports their legal status in this country. If you have DHS documents that identify you as a Temporary Visitor and have a REAL ID; your New York State driver license, permit or non-driver ID card will have: - "TEMPORARY VISITOR" on it - Your DHS document expiration date Please note that your DMV document does not expire on the Temporary Visitor expiration date, nor will your privilege to drive in New York. https://dmv.ny.gov/driver-license/resources-for-non-us-citizens It just says temporary visitor on the REAL ID thing, not for the standard. Does someone have a standard Non-Driver ID and can confirm it also has temporary visitor flag?
Chase WIN - opened a personal bank account with promo 400 USD
Made an appointment with Chase in Texas and went there for account opening. Took almost an hour. My aim was a personal account and a business account for my newly founded LLC. Aim is the CSP after establishing some relation with Chase. There is an offer currently ongoing with 400 USD when having a 1.000 USD direct deposit. And according to reports an ACH from Chase Biz to Chase Private counts eligible. https://account.chase.com/consumer/banking/seo So first was a check of the documents I had with me, before creating my file. The superior had to give its approval since I applied as a Non-Resident. Afterwards we were going through the possible accounts offered. There I mentioned the code I have, so it has to be the Total Checking account. The banker tried twice to sell me a savings account, but when I mentioned I don’t want to struggle with IRS he accepted my decision. You can then choose the design of your Debit Card and choose a PIN. There is then a mandatory clip to watch about overdraft fees. When it came to the NRA-part, I had to provide my foreign tax residency address and also providing how many days I was in the US from 2024 to 2026. It was for the substantial presence test. „A person satisfies the "substantial presence test" to be considered a U.S. person for tax purposes (and fill out a W-9) if they are in the U.S. for at least 31 days in the current year and 183 days over a 3-year period. This period includes all days present in the current year, 1/3 of days in the first preceding year, and 1/6 of days in the second preceding year.“ You can get your travel history here: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/search/history-search/results In the end the system wanted the W8-BEN. Last step was setting up the app and adding the Debit Card to Apple Pay. Afterwards he was explaining adding other bank accounts to have an overview, my savings journey, also home loan. Score is not available - an SSN is needed.

I will apply later directly for the Chase Sapphire Preferred when having some Credit age. Now it is just creating some history with them and show some usage on the account. I am currently at 3/25

Tried to open the Business account, was not possible. You have to be a US person to open it online. So next flight is already booked and let's see in June
Chase Saphhire Reserve approved (150.000 UR Offer)
Today I got approved for the Chase Saphhire Reserve card. Applied online via the Chase app. Simply clicked on the pre-approval in the app, updated my income (I used the same amount from my last application), and checked the boxes for confirmation. -> Wait 30 seconds. Congratulations! No documents were required. No VPN/Proxy used. I was already pre-approved for both Chase Saphhire Cards in the app for 4 weeks. I was lucky to wait for the best offer ever for CSR. I have an Chase Checking Account for almost 2 years. This was my 4th us credit card (Amex HH (2 years), Amex Green (1 1/2 years), Chase Freedom Unlimited (7 month). Credit Score before the application today: 754 (Equifax). I will try for my first Capital One card in 30 days in the US at an Capital One Cafe... I know, it will be a short time period between both aplications, but I dont know, when I will be back in the USA after my next vacation. Has anyone visited the Capital One Cafe in Las Vegas oder in Denver?

That's great news, enjoy the card. I am only quite unsure about Capital One and the recent shutdowns mentioned here in the group. Just be aware of it
BofA automatic limit increase after ITIN added 1/2 year later
Had the secured Travel Rewards Card with 500 USD security opened seven months ago. Added the ITIN last week at branch and today surprisingly got an automatic limit increase to….. 700 USD with no additional deposit required 🤣 Still there is the 500 USD deposit (the banker said it usually takes a year to release the deposit and changes from secured to unsecured) Congratulations! Your credit limit has been increased. Because you've managed your credit wisely, the credit line on your account ending in xxx is being increased. What you need to know - Your total credit line has increased from $500.00 to $700. - Your cash credit line is $200. - Your account number is staying the same, so you can continue to use your current card(s). - There's no additional security deposit needed. - We'll periodically review your account and, based on your overall credit history (including your account with us and other credit cards and loans), you may qualify to have your security deposit returned. Not all customers will qualify.

@Stephan Schölzel the secured card has a limit equal to your deposit. Let’s say you want 1.000 credit limit then you have to give the bank 1.000 as collateral. They usually deduct it from the account you have with them. And when you stay in good standing they release the deposit, like for me probably in a year. The unsecured doesn’t need a deposit as collateral. The bank trusts you enough that you pay your bills
