A Change of plans for the MYAL Virtual Fashion Show
Hello my lovely MYAL knitters 🧶 I need to share a change of plan with you, and I want to be honest about why. It has been a difficult few days for me and I have been quite affected. Those of you who follow me on Instagram will very likely now what I am referring to. Right now, I am not in the right place to host a live celebration the way I planned. And I do not want that to take away from what this event was meant to be: a celebration of YOU and all the work you have done. For many of you, this was your first all-over colourwork sweater, your first steek, your first time trying something out of your comfort zone. And that deserves to be celebrated properly, not under a dark cloud. So here is what I would love you to do instead. Please reply to this thread with: ā¤ļø your favourite photo of your Rujuu Sweater, whether it is a WIP or FO. ✨ 3 words that describe your Rujuu knitting experience šŸ¤” One thing that surprised you (a challenge or a win) šŸ’” One thing you would do differently next time We will celebrate together here, on Skool, and I promise I will be cheering for each and every one of you. Thank you for your patience with me this week. I am so proud of what you have all made. šŸ¤

Sending you lots of support šŸ¤ thank you for being honest with us. And also for creating something that pushed so many of us out of our comfort zones that’s something really special. ā¤ļø So proud of getting this far with my Rujuu (still a WIP!)✨ Challenging, rewarding, eye-openingšŸ¤” I was surprised how much more confident I became with colourworkšŸ’” Next time I’d slow down a bit more and enjoy the process instead of rushing

Really appreciate you still creating a space for everyone to share their work, even with everything going on. The goal here is definitely to still celebrate the project and reflect on the experience properly. My favourite part has been seeing the progress come together step by step, especially the colourwork it felt challenging at first but became really enjoyable once I got into it. Overall it’s been a really rewarding experience and it’s pushed me outside my comfort zone in a good way.
Do Ewe Yoke? No. 2 - Done āœ…
Well, almost… taking care of the lose ends an blocking are just not my favorite parts of the project…

So close! The finishing touches are never the fun part, but totally worth it šŸ™Œ

Haha yeah, getting started is always the hardest part šŸ˜… once you’re in it, it usually flows though šŸ’Ŗ
Starting Zalktis Pullover
My Mentenis Pullover is finished and blocking! So it’s time to cast on the Zalktis Pullover 🄰 I’m super excited to use this contrasting yarn that I picked out for it. The colorway and the silver glitter just makes me so happy!

That sounds so exciting! The yarn choice already sounds like it’s going to look amazing ✨
Yoke Meditation Series No. 7 is out, and I wanted to share it here too.
It follows the same idea as the previous ones in the series: a colourwork yoke that runs well past the sleeve separation, so you have plenty of time to get into the rhythm before things get easier. This one has a more relaxed, oversized fit and is worked at a sport weight gauge. A great transitional weather knit. 🤩 There is a double-knit ridge on the neckband and a fun decrease detail near the cuffs. The pattern also includes chart options for both lighter and darker main colours. And if you look closely at the colourwork while wearing it, some of the motif fragments look like little piglet faces. 🐷 Completely unintentional, but adds character 😁 There is a full construction deep dive on YouTube if you want to go through the build before casting on. This looks amazing! The fact that you keep spotting new little characters in the yoke makes it even better šŸ˜„
