At first I was dreading doing this exercise and sitting and writing. I have disliked writing due to being judged on my grammar and spelling my entire life. But I can do hard things… so I got my journal out. Opened a page and took a few deep breathes. I set myself up with an intention setting to help me focus in on writing. This was the intention; “I choose clarity over urgency, alignment over approval, and steady truth over forced momentum. I trust myself to move forward, one grounded step at a time.” To summarize up how it went, the word Anchor came up right away to start writing with. I set a timer, then I just wrote. Wrote about the word anchor and its meaning and is it truly a grounding word, or does it make you feel more stuck and tied down. As I wrote more and more. It involved into writing my fears down about aging and how our worries and fears evolve to getting an education, a job, being an adult, now to worries about the health of your loved ones, losing pets, and just being very aware time doesn’t stop and stand still. It’s how we manage the wheel of emotions and not sitting still like that anchor tied to your ankle keeping you in one spot. It puts things into perspective about what am I doing for me, how am I allowing myself move forward from the grief and the emotions of the loss I experienced. I picked my pen up off the page and the timer went off. It was like the writing just knew it was done. ❤️ Writing like this has now brought up some deep rooted things that I haven’t wanted to make peace with arrive like it’s time I face the music. There is very much healing in the writing. Thank you for the push! And thank you for holding space and listening.

Firstly, today’s reminder to pay it forward with kindness. I complimented a coworker for his witty remarks with the room and gloom lay off atmosphere we are in at work! It was nice to have some humour in that world! Also - I apologize for not giving a trigger warning during the writing session when sharing my last writing. But I extremely appreciate you all holding space for me while I shared, it’s the first time I had really talked about those deep feelings in community. 🩷

Things that brought me joy! Dinosaur matching pj’s lol! Becasue why not feel a little childish to sleep well! My sassy little girl that wants to go to work with me most mornings, and gives me attitude when I say sorry girlfriend, they won’t let you in. And last but not least go today, funny stickers for my refreshed “Nancy drew” journal.
Thought provoking !
Hey everyone! Today I stumbled on this image, and it really just kind of hit me. Figured I’d share. We had talked about confidence boosters last night - reflecting on this is even a great one! One of my habits that I need to “quit” is allowing my diagnosis titles to be an excuse for my life.
Thought provoking !
