Well I take a couple days off last week. Needed to clear my mind. But I did get some work on the shop. It’s starting to look like something now. Finally.

@Robert Winkworth it’ll go from cavernous to too small in about a week!
Hmm ppump 24v
Just finished a startup on this 350 horse engine for customer. It turned out pretty nice. Just have to clean it up a bit.

I want one too.

I know this is a more mundane question and I wasn’t sure if this should go here or in the bullshit corner. It’s regarding an12v so here it goes. I’m looking at a 94 fummins truck and the previous owner bypassed the engine fan and shroud and put a pair of electric fans in its place. The all aluminum radiator seems large so I’m pretty sure it took up too much space to keep the stock fan. Opinions seem to be divided on how well this system works long term. Does it depend on the brand or if I get the truck do I need to plan on rearranging everything to get a fan back on the engine? Thank you

Thanks Rob, no heavy towing right now.
Potential Build List
Ok, I’ve got some goofy questions. I think I’ve found a ‘96 eclb 12v truck that I want. Two things that are draw backs are : #1 it’s 2 wheel drive. I didn’t realize this at first but the guy offered me what is a good deal, if what he says about the truck is accurate. i think it is but won’t know until I drive it. I know that the truck can be 4wd swapped, and I’ve been dreaming of a second gen with manual locking hubs that bypasses the vacuum 4wd engagement system on the dodges and end up with 4 wheel disc brakes in the process.. I mentioned my intention to the seller and at first he said that the local yard is having a sale this weekend and he had seen some rams there, but then he said that his cousin has a F350 4x that broke down and has been sitting and they’re willing to sell the whole thing for $2000 and possibly less. There was an engine problem but I don’t have details other than it is possibly an ‘05. Has anyone here swapped F350 axles onto their second gen? Are there kits for this? #2 Along with this I’ll need a transfer case. Would it make more sense to- use the ford transmission with the transfer case and get an adaptor for the 12valve or keep the 47re and see if I can get an adaptor for the transfer case? The engine will get turned up but before I do anything beyond adjustments that can be made to a stock 12v, I’m going to want to prep the transmission. Who do you guys recommend for an upgraded rebuild kit for 500 horse if I keep the 47re and what parts do I need and not need for that power range? I know a lot of people say you don’t need an intermediate and output shaft for that but I know I’ll need a torque converter, input shaft, and valve body beyond typical internal upgrades. Sorry for the long winded post. Rob, I’m watching your videos as much as I can. I’m still new. This would be my third second gen and I would want it to last. Should have kept the second one!.

@Eric Fuller What brand do you recommend looking at for rebuild kits? I checked out cope racing, but want to see other brands for comparison.

I’m a contractor and I’m still looking for my truck to replace my 97 that I regret selling. The budget is tight right now though.

@Addison Wood Thanks man. That’s a good reminder of how to approach this!
