New Set of Quizzes on Wayground?
I messaged Sharon asking her to resend me some quizzes so I could keep refreshing the training while I wait. I got some new ones I've never seen before, and I dont think I have the training material for? Has anyone taken these or know where I can find the material? I believe I found the RP0201 quiz's material in the library on Reach360, but there are only 3 things in there so kind of scarce and that leaves 2. Thanks!

I got those too.I started taking the RP202 surveys and then stopped because I've never seen that material before. I also never got a comprehensive quiz, the longest one I got was 40 questions. I got a bunch in a row a few days ago but wayground kept throwing me an internal error when I tried to follow the link and create a pw so I never got it to work until last night and then everything was due within 6 hours lol. I got some done and failed a few. Wayground gives a vibe like it's for review and not that official? So hopefully it won't hurt me.

@Michael Williams being able to proctor would be a game changer.
Next steps question
Hello! I was wondering if anyone knew what the next steps are after completing the comprehensive quiz are. I completed them, and they have since dissapeared, but I completed them nonetheless! Do I just automatically qualify to take the FUN1 in person? Do I need to fill out an application first? I saw other posts that said that testing won't be avaliable to take until summer, which is fine, but with the complete and utter lack of communication from Westinghouse I am afraid they're going to email me at some point and say hey you need to do all this by next week for the exam or you can't do it this year. Also, where would the exam be? If I am unable to take it in the summer, could I still take it in the fall at a plant during an outage? What about the other exam, NSP I think its called, how come there is no focus or prep for that? With zero communication from Westinghouse I am wondering if I should try a different company and see if my luck is better there. Thank you in advance for reading/responding!

From my sparse responses from Sharon it seems like she’s pushing for everything to be in Tennessee during one week. I asked for clarification and of course haven’t received a reply.
the first timer Decon experience (Westinghouse, Duke Energy)
I work at the Brunswick plant, 7 days a week, 12 hour shifts, so I'll touch on the major points. After accepting the offer letter, a week or so later I received multiple emails with the same message containing my report date to King's Mountain in NC, where their training center is. At King's, it was a full week of a large amount of computer based training, along with a few actual classroom trainings. A few people seemed to have trouble completing the computer trainings, but most finished quickly. During this time, they're also working on the final steps of your background check so they can issue you a Duke security badge to gain access to Brunswick. Once you've completed all training and you finally obtain your badge, you have to report to Brunswick early the next morning, a 5 hour drive. The first day at the actual plant, you'll first report to a separate education center and go through some onboarding, before heading off to the actual plant with your fellow new arrivals. The education center assigned a veteran worker who's worked at Brunswick before to serve as a guide for me and the others to escort us to parking, and the various admin buildings we needed to go to for further plant checking in. Eventually I reported to the RP/Decon building nicknamed the 'Spa' and checked in at the front desk. There's various departments for decon's and RP's to actually work in, and the front desk assigned me to the Drywell dept. There are other departments such as refuel, general purpose (BOB?), reactor. Everyday I arrive by 6am to the Drywell briefing room for a morning safety brief and general info brief with my fellow Drywell decons and RP's, and afterwards head to our break room. If you're not working, you will generally always be expected to be in the break room and be available. I usually head to breakfast after the morning brief. From what the veteran workers here tell me, Brunswick's cafeteria is actually considered to be the best of all the Duke Energy plants in the area (which are Brunswick, McGuire, Catawba, and Oconee). It serves typical breakfast food like scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits & gravy, hashbrowns. The default meal costs 8 bucks and change, but you can ask for extra eggs or whatever for increased cost. Lunch always has burgers and fries available, along with a rotating menu of healthier food such as grilled chicken with various vegetables.

@Michael Cheng Dang so 12 hour days and you still had time to do the modules and study and pass the FUN1? That's impressive! What did you use for study aids?
New and looking to get started in DECON
Hello! I had picked up the course and have been learning all I can for the Fun-1 for the RP role. It's going okay but I think starting in DECON would be a smart idea. I wondered if anyone had an idea of his to talk to the recruiters about this. I used to work in manufacturing so I wondered did that helps on the resume? I'm think I go in as DECON for a year then take the FUN-1 test and try for a RP role. How are things looking as DEFON this year? If I get starting asking for positions now will they be able to get me in the Fall? Been going reading all this but thought I'd ask what the best strategy might be. Thanks!

All that being said, our sample size of actually hearing from people that went decon and RP is 1 and 1 respectively. We currently don't know how well/long those positions are doing and there are lots of them across the country. Hopefully we hear more as the spring outage season progresses to get a better sense of what it's like for the jrs.
