@N Wilkin I’d be very curious to know how accurate the future outages end up being. Hopefully very. The status map is pretty much the only thing that caught my eye however it is very cool and something I was going to create long term in the grid but seeing as how NukeWorker has a great one, I’ll just keep it linked here. Did you get the $200 plan to see future outages?

@N Wilkin Agreed- maybe this will make it a bit more lively with the new upgrade but if not we can use and build the grid as one of the foundational communities and link any good resources. Yes, I plan to get the plan to share here all the time. Thanks for the link!
New Westinghouse Jr/Sr RP job posting for St Lucie outage:
https://careers.westinghousenuclear.com/job/Jensen-Beach-Health-Physics-ST-LUCIE-FL-34957/1120100300/ No mention of new techs but wanted to share for the active techs here.

I think that post is for 2024 as RSCS now has the contract for FPL plants. Thank you for sharing though! Pretty cool to see you guys trying to update the community as it grows. Side note- I’ll be able to build, promote, and be way more active on the platform again once I get done with this outage. About to onboard 50ish new techs in the industry so new to nukes have a lot more points of contact.

Yeah I get it for sure and that’s how you should be to get into this industry. Keep looking and I’ll post updates when I can of what I know being on the inside per se. Been very busy working outage this season (84 hours a week). I’ll be very engaged and helpful once done. When I’m done with this outage I’ll send everybody a message that is working the outages with me to join the grid. This way we have more insiders for you newbies and the insiders get to connect for future outages.
How is your first outage?
For the people who started their first outage this year as decon or rp, how is it? Things you didnt expect? Things you wished you prepared more for? Is the day to day 12 hour shifts tolesome?

@Daryl Wright Yes. You have to work so many hours in any given state from how I understand it. I believe for Minnesota it is 100 hours.

@Daryl Wright Unfortunately as site coordinator we don’t decide when layoffs happen, the company does. We simply decide who goes on early layoffs verses late. This Monti maintenance outage is very short- much shorter than everyone expected. This means techs coming in on the 10th of March will only get about 10 days of hours worked in. Sometimes it happens however this was a capital project so I’m sure they have no issues paying the techs to stay a bit longer to do the house tech duties and clean up. All of the techs get a $5,000 bonus whether they work 3 weeks or 10 days though so they’re all happy.
Am I studying the right things?
Last week I finally got my reach360 training link from westinghouse. No instructions or order of what to open or start on first. I started in the Fundamentals for Jr RP Technicians, Rev1 and completed 2 sections over the weekend but I think that might be for the NIST tests specifically? I think I'm supposed to be following the courses that are in the 3rd picture, not the 2nd, can someone that's gone through the training confirm?

@Daryl Wright Great info and I’m glad to hear that the Classroom AI has been so helpful. I tweak the core logic when I can but it still occasionally messes up. Probably will get better as the actual models improve. Surprising to hear the course modules are less useful than the manual. Westinghouse should adopt some AI teacher
Training
Me, my brother, @Michael Cheng , and @Jonathan Vowles made into NC Sunday and are completing training this week at the Duke energy training facility in Kings Mountain.
