Help my Granola ⁦•́  ‿ ,•̀⁩
What’s a healthy alternative to yogurt that I can eat granola with for someone who’s lactose intolerant or sensitive to dairy? I’ve been trying to find healthy breakfast options, but yogurt seems to be part of most of them. Even healthy oatmeal recipes usually include yogurt for the texture, so I can’t really make them.😑😭

I’m lactose intolerant too, but I buy high-protein lactose-free yoghurts and dairy — total game changer. @Rofaida Almessalamy I also love almond milk for overnight oats and add high-protein granola plus vegan protein powder to amp the protein up even more. Honestly, you don’t need regular yogurt to make a healthy, high-protein breakfast — there are plenty of tasty lactose-friendly ways to make it work 🙌
Went out on a bit of an adventure Sunday
My husband took me to Toronto after lunch yesterday. I ate my regular breakfast and lunch. Brought a little car snack and we left for Toronto. He was visiting someone at Rehab and I was going to get together with my aunt and cousin. I was hoping he would take me to eat somewhere Korean and when we did I was super excited. If I would have looked it up better I would have skipped the tanghulu strawberry 🍓 stick. I would not have eaten half of the chips either. I would have chosen the spicy chicken hot stone meal instead of spicy pork. But honestly I enjoyed everything and yes I was up in calories and went up on the scale this morning but it’s worth it.

That sounds like a really good day — good food, family time, and a little spontaneity 🍓 @Valerie Frey One higher-calorie day (or a scale bump the next morning) is usually just water, sodium, and your body holding onto the extra carbs — not some dramatic setback. And honestly? You enjoyed it, made memories, and still came away reflecting on choices without beating yourself up. That’s a much healthier mindset than stressing over every bite. Toronto Korean food > scale drama. Worth it 🙌
What if everything is sore... 🙂
In my very Malaysian accent, I asked myself today; "everything is a bit sore, how ah?" Go anywhere on the Internet, and the advice is: "If you're sore here, then you can workout a different muscle group." But when I do a sport that works a lot of muscle groups (shoulder, back, core, legs) and they're all gently sore, where do I go from there? 😅 I would like to keep to 2x gym per week, but how much should I push (i.e. keep the heavy lifting per usual)? Like yes, always listen to your body, but my overthinking brain is already foreseeing a slight neglect in the muscle-building practice. Anybody has advice?

Gentle all-over soreness after a full-body sport? Totally normal 😅 @Octavia Teo If it’s just muscle soreness (not sharp pain / weird joint pain), still go gym. At 2x/week, consistency matters way more than forcing every session. You won’t lose gains from easing off when needed. You will lose momentum if “a bit sore” becomes your excuse every time. Basically: show up first, then listen to your body 💪
Sunday Strong 💪🏼✨
Back home from my work retreat and feeling recharged. Yesterday after HIIT, I listened to my body — took a nap, went to bed early, and got 7 hrs 30 mins of sleep. This morning? Walked into the gym feeling AMAZING and hit a new PR on my dumbbell glute bridges 🔥 Sometimes recovery really is the secret sauce. Less “go go go,” more intentional rest so we can perform better when it counts. And a moment that honestly caught me off guard… my partner took me to dinner at Pollo Inka last night and paused mid-conversation to say: “Damn babe… I haven’t seen you for a week and you look really skinny now.” To be honest, I don’t always see the changes myself day to day. But hearing it from someone else — especially after multiple people this week mentioning my transformation — reminded me that consistency does compound. Even during the weeks when motivation isn’t perfect, routines are off, stress is high, or progress feels invisible. Showing up still matters. The workouts matter. The sleep matters. The tracking matters. The small choices matter. And today was a reminder that the hard work behind the scenes eventually shows up 🫶🏼 Pollo Inka ordered: Lomo saltado with green beans (usually comes with fries), no rice, side salad, no dressing, chicken soup, roll with Aji verde dressing
Sunday Strong 💪🏼✨

Okay but first — that food looked AMAZING 🤤 @Lena Nguyen And hitting a new PR on your dumbbell glute bridges after actually prioritizing recovery? That’s huge 🔥 Such a solid reminder that rest fuels results. Plus hearing that kind of recognition from your partner just shows all the work you’ve been putting in is paying off big time 💪
