Persuasion Tactics Won't Save Your Copy, But This Will
Good evening copy academy :) Today, I want to talk about something that I don't really see a lot of marketers and copywriters focusing on or teaching? And it really surprises me because it's the one part of any marketing to get right if you want to get results... I know this because I lacked this when I was first marketing for my clients. But anyways, I'm going to explain what I'm talking about so read on if you want to know how. Whenever most copywriters are writing any piece of copy, whether that be an email, an ad, a vsl, a sales page etc they will focus on persuasion and being attention grabbing. because that's the way we're all taught, right? The "foundation" of copywriting is persuasive words. Obsessing over these little persuasive words and phrases and tactics. This was what I thought made marketing that generates results. Until I learnt that I really lacked knowledge on a pivotal step which I needed to figure out FIRST before I started worrying about all of that. Yes persuasion tactics work, but they are powerless if you're not doing this well enough. From what I've been learning these past few months and working with multiple clients, it was the root of one, why I got stuck when writing, and two, why my copy didn't convert for clients in the beginning. And after learning how to do this the right way, I don't want you to lack this in your copy because It's crucial if you want to get results for your clients! It's having deep knowledge on the specific audience that you're writing too. BUT, do you know the audience your writing to well enough? One particular moment where this really hit for me was the first time I worked with one of my clients (still working with today) And I was writing their ads, a full blown VSL, and full end to end funnel. We launched, and it did okay, but not as-well as expected sadly. And then, I re-did everything, did way more research on the specific audience with a specially made A.I prompt that went really deep on the audience,
