Search Fund Interview Advice
Hello, I am a third-year student studying finance and real estate. I want to eventually land up in a high finance role like IB or PE and as a first step towards reaching that goal, I have started finding and applying to search funds. Have just been invited to an interview at an LLM Private Equity/Search fund. Before the interview, they asked me to complete an industry appraisal and make a list of a few companies that would be a good fit for acquisition and some that would be a bad fit given the company's search criteria. I was wondering if in the interview they would only ask me follow up questions about my research and ask me to justify my responses or can there be a technical component also? And any tips on how to prepare for it!

@Pavle Lazic Hey Pavle, thank you! The Chatgpt thing always works (coming from a guy who uses it almost all the time). Do you recommend some additional documents about the search fund model or j general resources that would help me prep for some deal-based questions? Also do you reckon they'll ask about any current deals and their walkthroughs like they do in IB interviews?
I want to get into consulting
I was wondering if anyone had any useful resources for optimising my CV + finding case studies online?

I have a few Ivey case studies lying around from when I was recruiting for consulting clubs, DM me and I can pass them over to you. Ivey has a few really interesting cases about tech transformation and supply chain management. If you want specific cases, you can always research the case that you want from hbs' website and then put the name of the case on google and filter for pdfs and they're bound to pop-up.
CV guide for Consulting
What skills to highlight through work experience to land an internship in consulting?

The above response sums it up pretty well but if I were you, I would also mention any case competitions you have been a part of, or any consulting-related work you have done (be it through a club or independently). From all the consultants I have spoken to, most of them suggest having a really strong answer to "Why Consulting?" which basically is YOUR rationale for pursuing a role in consulting as compared to another business field. Make sure to highlight something unique that you can only get in consulting that will be hard to find at other finance/business internships, but the bulk of this should go into the cover letters that you would prepare for each position that you apply to. Good luck!
