Pinterest Pins & Etsy Shop on Google Search
Hi thereā£ļø I began putting things together about why I get many results from Google Search. I was glad to realize that once we’re found on Google, it’s a great window of opportunity for our YouTube videos to catch the public eye. Then I thought about what was popping up when I searched using specific key words for my topics of interests. I imagined there were a few contributing factors of mine for pretty good SEO but hadn’t taken Pinterest into account. That is to say, I was oblivious to the fact that my images were appearing there on Google from my Pinterest Pins. Did you know that there’s lots of great content on Pinterest besides artsy things? You name it, there’s a picture, article, tutorial, video, etc on a variety of topics. I found out years earlier about Etsy having great visibility too with any related content that mentions it. If you have an Etsy shop and good search terms, boom! If you make a video and mention Etsy, people will find it on Google. The visibility is great for sellers of any type of sales on Etsy, whether tangible or passive income. Do any of you Pin on Pinterest or have an Etsy shop? If so, have you searched for terms and come across your Pins or shops? Just curious and if you haven’t already tried any of these two, perhaps you might want to explore those possibilities. I hope this has been somewhat helpful. Have a good one. šŸ™‚

You really are on the cutting edge Rozani! I used to have Etsy and Pinterest years ago but found Etsy pretty useless in NZ… we don’t even have eBay or Amazon lol! I stopped using Pinterest when it got taken over by AI images. But my main bugbear with it, and with a lot of social Media is how difficult it is to find a source for an image etc. I am repeatedly shocked by how few people bother to credit their sources. This has been drummed into me all my life. Credit the source. It is a mainstay of academia and should be throughout all fields of life where you are sharing, referring to or inspired by the work of others. I know I got off the point lol but I am sure as as an artist you will agree. Back to the point… when I was active on Instagram when I had a business making bespoke embroidered bags, even though my YT channel was not about my business, I used to get way more views etc as the name was the same I guess. So it does all add up! I also like what someone said in the live yesterday, I believe it was a channel called @reinventingmeat60 ircsimilar, but they said that they had been maybe retitling old videos and they were like extra pennies in the bank! @Karen Taylor or @Andrea S. may recall it more accurate as I missed the first part!!! Ok now I am really lost in the woods ;)
If Your YT Channel Was A Christmas Stocking………
what would you place inside of it and to whom would you give it? Where would you hang it? Let’s see….. I’d put in something sweet, something happy, something different, something to learn, a greeting card and anything else that might fit into it. I would hang it in a spot with a sign that says ā€œFreeā€. It would need to be a place that draws the most attention from someone who needs some cheer, is curious, appreciative, enjoys pleasant surprises and wants to learn more about the stocking. May your Stockings be filled with all good things that the Christmas season brings. ā¤ļøšŸŽ„šŸ˜šŸŽ„ā¤ļø

@Just Krista So many blessings! 🄰
How much do you use VidIQ? I've just changed a bunch of titles.
I have the basic paid subscription to Vid IQ and I use it to give me basic guidance when uploading videos. To help remind me to use end cards etc. and to score my title, thumbnail and description. I was digging around in there last night and asked it for 'optimisation' help on videos on my channel and saw a lot of videos with titles that scored low (like 44/100 or 60/100). If you use Vid IQ and haven't nosied around into it much like I hadn't, it was good to float back over old videos before I had Vid IQ and swap out titles (video below is showing you how it works). I only picked titles that were true for my video and - being old videos it doesn't matter that much but while watching the new Knives Out movie it was the perfect computer job to tootle around with. Do you use either free or paid Vid IQ much and if so, what do you use it for? Signed, Major Underuser of VidIQ.

I voted I don't use it at all, as I don't but I had the free version for about 4 days a while back when it was first mentioned here. I don't know how much more you get in the paid version but I can only recall out scoring my titles, and the score changing, for the same title and same video, before it was published. I was a bit leery of how it took over my YouTube channel and to be honest, I just feel wrong when I try to create the thumbnails that the gurus tell you to do.. I don't mean that in any disrespectful way at all, I admire people who can do it and do it well. but for me it feels like I am a fraud. In the same way that I would feel a fraud if I wore a pinstripe suit with a pencil skirt and heels and librarian glasses and tidy hair and carried a briefcase. Dunno if that makes sense.
Processor Power with DaVinci etc…
Those who use DaVinci or similar, do you have pretty powerful computers? I am finding it freezes my MacBook Air more often recently. I think my processor and memory are maybe borderline, even for shorter videos.

Do you have a desktop or MacBook? Mine is a MacBook Air, and it pushes it to the limit and fazes so much! I do work on the built in memory though and keep everything on the cloud except the stuff that has to be on here. Once I have sorted a video I delete it! I saw a Sandisk extreme external HD that looks pretty nifty!

@Andrea S. Usually my MacBooks have lasted me around 4-5 years but one was ruined in a flood, so I am on my third or maybe fourth one I think since 2011. I have never had the ramped up ones!
A/B Testing option for Titles & Thumbnails?
Today for the first time YouTube offered me the option of A/B testing. I chose to test titles but not thumbnails. Next time I may make different thumbnails to test. Have any of you tried this option? What feedback did you get?

Lol I’ll read the subtitles in my laptop… I can’t listen to that cringey AI voiceover and it’s out of sync!
