I Do Not Like Shorts...But Apparently Everyone Else Does
Before I start my rant, I want to clarify that this is in no way a post to get anyone to look at my videos. With that out of the way... So, I saw a meme and it made me reflect on how people are so quick to judge, criticize and gossip. I decided to make a video about it, and in less than 72 hours, I was judged at a doctor's appointment. It bothered me so much that I recorded myself reacting to what happened. I made it for myself, but my husband convinced me to post it. Since it was in vertical format and under 1 minute, I just left it that way and loaded it as a short. 2k+ views in 24 hours is ridiculously insane for what I posted. Too bad the algorithm doesn't love my videos the same way. 🙄

That is bizarre, Vicki, your experience! I have been judged all my life, even the drug sniffer dogs at the airports judge me by my hippy like appearance, I never get through a straight scan, always the pat down. Had to open my carry on in LA and watch the guys eyes glaze over when I had to explain why I had 18 fountains pens ;-) Re: Shorts... I feel the same, and I know Kevin Kolbe said he doesn't like them, or do them but I believe I have seen a couple recently. I think that they do have a place for folk like us to give a quick channel intro and I have to say, even though my being cringes against the idea, the logical part of me is tempted to just try. I can see how I could put them to good use with the stuff I talk about. But you need millions of views I think to make them count, but not totally sure! On a tangent from that I randomly read somewhere, the other day that a guy had 20K subs but had never had enough view hours to get monetised! So the figures are crazy.

I did it!!!!!
The most terrifying thing, I actually spoke, face on, on the camera! Ok I hid behind a book for some of it, but I challenged myself and I did it! I just watched it and it was very cringe, I daren't watch before as I would never have published it, so the audio is a bit off, and I am sure my face looks unnaturally red but I did it! I had one major event where I did have to stop and start when I knocked a lamp over but I jumped right back in and made myself finish! I tried my daughter's iPhone to take some photos in the garden the other day, and the colour and cinematic mode are amazing in the newer phones! So much better than the old camera that I have!

@Karen Taylor I have always had a website, well until a few months ago but the host expired but I kept the domain! I used to blog on my own site... not sure if I will start it again or not!

Hi everyone!! Thank you for welcoming me into this beautiful group. I’m a 63 year old who embraces life with a full heart no matter the situation. We only have one life to live and it’s important to make difference. My YouTube channel is called “Memories & Must Haves”. My channel focus is on lifestyle, wellness (I have an PhD in Naturopathic medicine) and exercise with some storytelling. Since I’ve had to do a keto reset, that’s been my focus. Oh, and we’re kind of homesteaders where we could live completely off grid 😊. I live in the middle of 50 acres just outside of New Orleans but was raised in Columbus, Ohio. I joined or rewatched the group videos and everyone shares so much information that I’ve enjoyed hearing. I look forward to talking with each of you.

@Maureen Greer No way is it cringe!! if we are not a work in progress then I reckon we are stuck, because perfection is nothing but a very subjective construct!
