There is a couple of good ones in there! I like the plaid shirt idea. My mentors all wore flannel while hunting.

😂😂😂 @Grant Richardson You are more likely to catch a saltwater crocodile or a shark with that style bait 😂 I don’t know why my ex wife won’t come fishing 🤔🤪😂😂😂

Tophat adapters
Does anyone here have any experience with those tophat screw on adapters for wood arrows? They seem pretty sweet, I dont know if id use them on big game but being able to change heads on my stumping arrows from stumpers, to field point, to broadheads just in the truck sounds pretty cool. Curious how they hold up.

I did a set for a mate using them so he could experiment with tip weights for a new bow he brought. He only used them on targets, but they worked a treat to see how much weight he could keep adding without effecting their flight. They are actually outlawed here for some competitions, so they aren’t very widely used. I was thinking about a set for the convenience of swapping heads over. But haven’t don’t it yet.
String Silencers
Happy Sunday folks! I am in process of setting up a new bow string. It’s a D-97 14 strand for my new bow! I’m very minimalist as a lot of folks know on that level. I prefer classic wool string silencers. Low fuss setup and maintenance. My daughter makes them for me. It’s kind of a bit of a mojo thing with all my bows. She’s made all my silencers for me since she was young. 🤞 I prefer a lower end less is more approach to to wool silencers - I Tend to go on the lighter side and the smaller side in most cases, and don’t like adding a lot of weight onto a string- especially a fast flight. 🎯 I also will tune 2 different strings both a B55 or a B50 as well as a D97 type of fast flight just to see for tunability in regards to noise and vibration tension. 🎵 If I have a D97 that might be three or four seconds faster I will choose the B50 or B55 string material if it’s quieter and is better off for bow VS speed - which is not what the traditional game is about and I would rather have a quieter bow than a noisy bow that's a little tiny bit faster. 🏹 I do like using brush buttons, simply for not only some of the string slap you can get with a recurve, but also in regards to catching brush since we do an awful lot of stalking and still hunting here in Ontario, what do you prefer to use for string silencers or do you use any at all?

I always use wool as well. I was always told to use pure wool only, not acrylic as I was told the synthetic can be abrasive to the string material. But I’ve never experimented away from pure wool to see if that was true. I usually do 6 wraps of wool around my hand, slip them through the restrung string and then restring the bow. I then make sure I am happy with the location of the bundle, then I cut the loop ends to allow them to fuzz out as I shoot the string in.

Been flinging arrows for about 26 years here in Australia. Around 20 of those years have been exclusively with my trusted longbow.
