...By auctioning off a playbook on how to acquire niche subreddits for $0. The winning bid was $777. It could have been higher, but I ran the auction on a Saturday. So when I followed up with top bidders on Sunday to let them know we were closing soon, half of them were out with family. And I also forgot to mention the timezone in some of my follow-ups. Just said "closing at 1 AM." One bidder really wanted to win but missed it because of my vague timing. So I reached out to the winner and asked if I could offer the same thing to other top bidders. In exchange, he'd get something exclusive that nobody else would get. He was kind enough to agree. Sold it to 2 more people at the winning bid price. Then I followed up with everyone else who bid and made them a 3-tier offer. Most people grabbed the replay of my call with the winner. A couple picked the higher tier. Total: $6,462. More important than the money, the market told me what it's willing to pay for this offer right now. That's what auctions do. They validate offers and reveal pricing in real time. This won't stop here. The post is pinned on my profile. I'll keep making sales from it. I'll post more content about owning subreddits and send people to that pinned post. I'll also partner with people whose audiences would be interested in acquiring niche subreddits and run auctions there. Auctions are fun. And if you're sitting on a Facebook profile averaging 12 likes, thinking you can't make money, I hope this gives you hope. P.S. If you know someone whose audience would be interested in acquiring niche subreddits for $0, message me "Reddit."

First time auction success: $31k winning bid
Long time lurker here, first time poster... 2 days ago, I ran a 24-hour auction in my Skool group of 400 people. There was a "pool party" theme to make the event even more fun and exciting than it might be otherwise. All in all, around 35 people ended up making a bid. Out of those, 10 or so were actively and continuously bidding for the actual offer over the 24 hours. The winning bidder wasn't one of them โ€”ย he only swept in during the last 2 or so minutes, and won the auction in a photo finish, with a last-second $31k bid. (I had initially estimated the entire auction might bring in $10k total.) Along with the winning bidder, now I also have 10 people who have expressed a serious level of interest in the outcome I was promising in the auction offer. I'm talking to them as well, to see how we might end up working together. On top of all that, my entire group is on a kind of high. Folks really got into the auction and the pool party theme โ€”ย there were side bets going on, running gags, people goosing each other on, and lots of jokes, to the point that somebody recommended giving out a prize for the funniest comment (a suggestion that was immediately adopted). There are 755 comments on the auction post, and a bunch of members have written me afterwards to thank me for putting on an exciting and fun spectacle. All that's to say... now I'm a believer. And I'll be doing more auctions soon. Big thanks to both @Travis Sago and @Chris Dyson for their help before, during, and after the auction.

The Good, Bad and UGLY of a $174,000 Fun Auction
HUGE THANK YOU to @Nick Roberts and @Marcus Karl for this candid interview. They did NOT sugar coat or gloss over the Bad or the Ugly of this auction. Spoiler alert: Everyone still had fun and $174,000 in sales with $50,000 cash collected. There are HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of creators and influencers with 5,000 or less followers on their FB profiles, Insta, YT channels, Email lists, X, Pinterest that could... Use the same EXACT method that Nick and Marcus did. And it doesn't have to be perfect. Why? Because the auction format is SO FORGIVING! Let's make this a LEARNING thread and ASK any questions you may have! Rooting For Ya, Travis PS I double-dawg dare ya to watch this and NOT lose sleep tonight! The WORLD is OURS! At the end... I gave them a tip to bring in another $100k. In ONE WORD. Then I showed them how to cash flow this for $1 million. PPS If you got anything out of this interview and breakdown, please drop some appreciation for Markus and Nick. They really gave this their all and went into detail!

@Yakov Smart great questions. I'm curious to hear the answers. Regarding #1, if you've ever been to a live auction it's all based on the bidding action. The auctioneer will keep pressing and pressing until it seems like the bidding stops, then he gives the "going once, going twice..." call and it's then that you sometimes get some last second bidders that could continue the action for a while. This ensures that bidders stay engaged so they don't get swooped at the last minute. it makes it exciting all the way to the end
