The Shift I am Seeing in the Online Space
Someone asked me yesterday if the era of selling to other digital marketers is simply dead. And whether they should change their strategy. I want to Share what I’m seeing… and what I personally decided to do about it. For a while, a lot of people were able to build businesses around buying a course… and then reselling that same course. And for a period of time, it worked. The hype around digital products in 2025 was huge. But when thousands of people are selling the same thing, eventually the market gets saturated. That was always going to happen. The number of courses launched over the past couple of years has been enormous. Many people jumped into reselling without really understanding the systems behind the products. And unfortunately, some people ended up spending more money than they made. That’s always concerning to see. But here’s the interesting part. Courses themselves are not the problem. Education will always have value. The real issue is that the market has now seen the same broad advice repeated thousands of times. Things like: “Make money online.” “Start a digital business.” “Sell digital products.” When buyers see the same information over and over again, something natural happens. Demand starts dropping. Not because people don’t want solutions anymore. But because they’ve already heard the general advice. What still works extremely well are very specific solutions to very specific problems. Clear problem. Clear result. That’s why many creators are starting to diversify their income streams right now. Some are moving into things like: • services • UGC • consulting • trading • affiliate partnerships 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭. Instead of selling more information, creators are starting to build tools. Tools that help people actually do the thing faster. And that’s exactly why I personally started building Custom GPTs and simple apps for this community. Not because courses don’t work.
