WAYS TO PROTECT AGAINST CARRIERS NOT PAYING YOU. Thank you for the post @Rahmanullah Niazai
1. Always Use a Written Dispatch Agreement Before you start working with any carrier, sign a Dispatch Service Agreement that clearly includes: - Your service fee (e.g., 5–10% per load or weekly flat rate) - Payment schedule (after each load, weekly, or via invoice) - Payment method (Zelle, Wise, bank transfer, etc.) - Clause stating payment is due regardless of whether the carrier receives broker payment - Termination clause Without a written agreement, it is very hard to enforce payment. 2. Verify the Carrier Before Working Check the carrier to avoid scams or unreliable companies: - Ask for: MC number DOT number Certificate of Insurance (COI) W-9 form - - Confirm their authority is active - Check safety and activity history on FMCSA (to see if they are operating regularly) Carriers with inactive authority or very new MC numbers are higher risk. 3. Charge a Small Upfront Fee (Recommended for New Dispatchers) Many professional dispatchers request: - A setup fee ($50–$200), or - Payment after the first load is booked This helps filter serious carriers from those who may disappear. 4. Use Rate Confirmations as Proof of Work Always: - Keep copies of Rate Confirmations - Keep email or WhatsApp communication records - Maintain a load tracking sheet If a carrier refuses to pay, these documents prove you provided the service. 5. Invoice Immediately After Each Load Send a professional invoice including: - Load details - Rate confirmation reference - Your percentage or flat fee - Payment deadline (e.g., 3–7 days) Consistency reduces late payments. 6. Work With Carriers Who Have Factoring Companies Factoring companies handle payments from brokers. These carriers usually: - Run loads regularly - Have more stable cash flow - Are less likely to avoid dispatcher payments You can ask: “Are you working with a factoring company?” 7. Stop Dispatching If Payment Is Late If a carrier delays payment: - Politely remind once or twice - Do not book new loads until payment is cleared

@Angel Nyce Thank you for the great response oh yeah and there nothing wrong with you shooting your shot others have already been there and done that too.lol I’m here not to really learn how dispatch or deal with brokers but to just be more professional at doing it honestly. That’s not to say that it won’t ever be different but for right now it’s important that I learn it myself before bringing others in to work for or work with me or my company. That way we are all on the same page and moving forward is all I’m interested in from anybody at that point so we either do it together or we part ways to do it however you see or think you should do it at that point. @Hafiz Usman Iqbal the entire world is being affected by this crazy conflict with Iran. The rising fuel cost is affecting trucking in a huge way with the skyrocketing cost of fuel. Which in turn is causing a ripple effect on all things consumer and non-consumer goods to be high as a side effect. So the market is in flux right now honestly. Wanting it to return to a more normal state in order to flatten out costs.

@Tabitha Fields Welcome to the community, I’m new here like yourself looking to find my own way as well to dispatching carriers or other drivers that might work for my company. I’m a driver who has his own company looking to get my own authority. Thought that learning how to become a “professional” dispatcher would give me another skillset to draw from out there in the real world on the job. I’ve driven for companies and I’ve been an owner operator leased onto a major carrier doing intermodal drayage port and rail work hauling containers and tanks both Hazardous and non-hazardous. But take a look around see what you like and don’t like ask folks questions about their experiences and I’m sure they’ll share them with you. I hope you find all that you came here looking for and that you realize all of your goals, hopes and dreams! Nothing but the best of luck.

A Day In The Life of An Operator
Woke up with 3 trucks to Quarterback. - Atlanta Box, (my buddy who got fired from Amazon then called me Saturday), has to be home every night, so I had him scoop a $750 load to drop in Nash first thing tomorrow morn. Gotta get him loaded for the return trip. His 1+ Year Authority is like a jug of water in the desert. SO refreshing! Booking him is a breeze.. 🤗 - Illinois Box had drama and was late-plus he hadn't finished the setup for TQL (which is a Godsend for New Authorities) like I told him to-so everything got threw off and he had to deadhead back hundreds of miles to his pregnant, complaining girlfriend.🫣 I just sent him a text establishing my Non-Negotiables moving forward. (And I HONESTLY don't give a damn if he leaves.😎) See he started out talking real STRONG, like he was a runner, but I expose fake hustlers every Time-bc I am the Real Deal. - Mississippi Hotshot down in TX missed like 3 loads that I found, negotiated and booked bc of his wife's inefficiency. I repeatedly get 'overrides' on his Brand New Authority, so actually 10% ain't enough! Anyway, I powered on thru. After like 15-18 rejections and wife's fumbles, I got him a $2300 load going to Phoenix with 3 ATVs on the back. It was already after 5 pm aka Crunch Time. 💪🏿💪🏿 I also had the Presence of Mind to ask him for another video testimonial. I strike when the iron is hot--when they're the MOST Excited about My Dispatching. 😉 - Other Box is on hiatus until Thursday. 👉🏿 I am a Freight Architect! #IQuarterbackBigTrucks #CargoStarLogistics 🥂
