Final month of Q3... Happy 1st September 📆
It's September, a new month and a new week. So now’s the time to zoom out & really start thinking about what you want to get out of this year. Don’t just think about how you’ll finish 2025 strong, ask yourself: What will 2026 look like if I make the right moves now? Get strategic, growth doesn't happen by accident. Whether you’re investing, building, or scaling, the foundations you set in the next 90 days will shape your next 2–3 years. 👉 What’s one thing you’re planning before year-end to set yourself up for 2026?
🎯 My career started with a gamble. It turned into the best risk I ever took.
After finishing my degree in Construction Management at Sheffield Polytechnic, I never imagined I’d end up in telecommunications. But one person, David McCourt, saw something in me before I saw it in myself. I became the first UK employee of McCourt Keywit International, right at the unbundling of BT’s copper networks. There was no hand-holding. It was sink or swim. I laid fibre optic networks for investment banks. Negotiated deals far above my experience level. Travelled. Delivered. And somewhere along the way, I met Warren Buffett, without realising how special that moment really was. What I learned: ● Step up before you feel ready. ● Say yes before you feel qualified. ● Surround yourself with people who challenge your comfort zone. The potential in you is unlocked through action, not waiting. 💬 Who saw something in you before you did? Share your story.
The UK is quietly losing its wealth creators and it should worry us all.
Since April 2025, thousands of company directors have left the UK following tax hikes and rule changes. These aren’t profiteers ...they’re the entrepreneurs, investors, and SME leaders who make up the backbone of our economy. When they leave, it’s not just their wealth that goes, it’s jobs, reinvestment, and opportunity. So here’s the question: are short-term tax wins worth the long-term cost of driving talent and capital abroad? 📖 I’ve written a full breakdown with the numbers, context, you can read it here: https://www.sustainomics.co.uk/post/the-great-wealth-flight-why-uk-plc-should-be-deeply-concerned

Weekly Wins and the Power of Networking
Grasshopper Property Weekly Wins Firstly, what a beautiful weekend, we have been blessed with more sunshine. It makes everything seem less stressful and more positive whatever is going on.🌞 ☀️ Secondly, we feel very humbled to have met more Touchstone students this week along with a 2 new contacts at Asset for Life. 👩‍🎓 Networking is key in making connections within property, but for us it’s about meeting people we can help, even if we just manage to pass one single nugget on our own learning journey, that feels good. 👌🤩 Our weekly wins: 🌳 the ecological survey has been instructed on the demolition site. Said bat survey is still being carried out… 🦇 📑 met with the vendor from the commercial property we’re trying to seal a deal on in Banbury. Many options were discussed and more learning for us that we’ll lean to the superb mentors and coaches we have around us for advice. So has been a lot of meet and greets this week while searches and surveys are continuing, I’m a looking forward to getting stuck into the actual development. But all in time.. it’ll be worth it. Never give up on your dreams. Nothing comes easy it’s shear determination and hard work that makes the dreams come true. And the reason why you’re doing it 🌟
