Paper planners make me want to cry — and Notion nearly broke my brain.
So...
Yesterday I got really overwhelmed.
My brain was firing on crazy cylinders — there was just too much going on. I couldn’t get my thoughts straight.
And here’s the thing…
I’m not a pen-and-paper kind of girl.
✍️Being dyslexic, writing things down is really difficult for me.
  • The processing from brain → paper is hard.
  • The spelling trips me up.
  • My handwriting is messy.
It all just stresses me out and adds another layer of pressure to an already overloaded brain.
What I do know is that I do well with structure.
Having ADHD and autism means structure isn’t just “helpful” — it’s key.
So I’ve been thinking… I need somewhere I can host a life plan that covers everything:
  • Personal stuff
  • Family
  • Home educating
  • House + bills + finances
  • Projects
  • And, of course, business
And I want it in a way that feels clear + visual — with tick boxes. So each day I see what’s on my plate, what’s personal, what’s business, what’s family… without a thousand scraps of paper or Post-Its taking over my desk (and my brain).
I’ve heard Notion is amazing for this — like a second brain where you can keep everything in one place.
But truthfully? When I tried to use it, I just got more confused. Which, of course, added to the overwhelm. 🙄
So here’s my question 👇
👉 Does anyone know of another tool I could use?
👉 Or… is anyone here a total boss at Notion who could give me some pointers
Because I know that if I can set this up in a way that works for my brain, it will help me cut through the chaos and actually organise myself into a calmer, more balanced life… instead of constantly spinning into overwhelm when there’s too much going on.
