We're back! Last time we left our man as he was leaving his palace as a free man. He already knew what he didn't want, but didn't yet know what he longed for...
THE SEARCH
The man heard about an inspiring teacher named Buddha and started looking for him. Everywhere he arrived too late and couldn't meet him. But he didn't give up, he followed in his footsteps.
One day, Buddha felt he had some work to do, separated from his companions, and went to sleep in a house. It was a potter's house - and this is where this legend gets its name. The potter accommodated Buddha on the upper floor.
After some time, our man also came to the same house and asked for shelter.
The potter said: "Of course! I've just accommodated one man in the spare room, but that's okay, you'll both fit."
THE MEETING AT THE POTTER'S HOUSE
And so the man met Buddha... but he didn't know it was the teacher he was looking for.
These two started talking. Buddha asked about his story and the man told him about himself and how he got to where he is. He said he was now looking for Buddha to learn about his teachings and to guide him correctly.
Buddha didn't introduce himself. He just said he knows Buddha's teaching, and if he wants, he can tell him about it.
And so he began to speak about suffering and Buddha's teaching...
The man gradually started getting angry. The more Buddha spoke, the more it boiled inside him. Until he got so angry that he shouted:
"Enough! The Buddha I'M looking for doesn't teach such nonsense!"
And he went to sleep.
In the morning, still angry, he left early... and on the road, a furious bull trampled him to death.
BUDDHA AND HIS DISCIPLES
Buddha returned to his disciples and told them what had happened. They were confused: "Why didn't you introduce yourself?"
Buddha answered: "Because he as a person is not important, his teaching is important."
"But how is it possible that the man died?" asked the disciples.
"He was a truthful man, but since he didn't accept the truth in this life, he needs to reincarnate again."
Now a question for you:
How many times have you already met the answer to what you're looking for, but rejected it because it didn't come in the form you expected?
The woman from the first part is still here... and believe me, her path is completely different. In a few days, you'll see how the same story can turn out completely differently. 🙏
