If you’re an author — or becoming one — here’s how to get started on Goodreads ⬇️
👉 Step 1 — Create a Goodreads account
Go to goodreads.com → Sign Up Use the email you’ll actually check. 👉 Step 2 — Search for your book
Already published? Search title → open book page → scroll to the author name.
Click your name → select “Is this you? Let us know”
If your book isn’t published yet — skip to Step 5.
👉 Step 3 — Apply for Author Status
You’ll submit: ✔ your name ✔ book link ✔ confirmation you’re the author
Goodreads reviews & approves it.
👉 Step 4 — Customize Your Author Profile
Add:📸 a warm author photo📝 a meaningful bio🔗 links to website + socials📚 your books🧠 your areas of expertise💛 what you care about
This builds trust.
👉 Step 5 — Add Unpublished / Upcoming Books (If Relevant)
Yes — you can list works in progress.
This helps:✨ early awareness✨ metadata accuracy✨ credibility

👉 Step 6 — OPTIONAL: Sync Your Blog
If you write regularly — readers can follow.
👉 Step 7 — Start As A Reader First
Add books you loveRate honestly Join conversations gently Stay human, not salesy
