Has Anyone Tried Atticus for Writing Their Book?
Hi everyone! I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz lately about a writing and formatting tool called Atticus… and I wanted to bring it to you for some real-world feedback. I’m in an AI-focused group right now, and quite a few members are absolutely singing its praises... especially for how it streamlines the process of writing and formatting a book all in one place. So of course it got me curious. So I’d love to ask this amazing community: Have you used Atticus? What was your experience like? Did it make your writing or publishing process easier? Would you recommend it… or not so much? And if you haven’t tried it yet, what tools are you currently using to write. format, publish your book? As many of you are in different stages of your book journey, from idea to draft to published, I think this could be a really helpful conversation for all of us. I am in the formatting stage and was thinking about who I should hire to format for amazon, print on demand, etc. and this topic came up today... Your thoughts and experiences would be really helpful! —Heidi

@Heidi Richards Mooney yes. That's the price. I bought it years ago when it first came out
So I did a thing.
This is a first for me. Awakened Magazine Cover Feature I am excitified. [excited + terrified]. In part, I did this to explore and model this possibility for the authors in this community, to report back on the experience and value of media opportunities like this. Read the article/ listen to the podcast... Have you had a cover feature? Would you want one? More importantly, how could media like this support and validate your work in the world? Share your thoughts/questions in the comments.
So I did a thing.

@Heidi Richards Mooney yes. It's a different audience than Brainz. Many of my authors are in their space.

Understanding how agents think, how submissions work, and how to position your book can dramatically change your publishing path. We’re excited to welcome Rose Friel Conway as our next Industry Expert Guest. Rose is a literary agent and the founder of Foreword Literary Consulting, with over 12 years of experience. As of 2026, Rose is also representing adult and select young adult commercial fiction as a literary agent with Confluence Literary Agency, while continuing to consult with nonfiction authors on proposals, queries, and publishing strategy. In this session, we’ll discuss: • How literary agents evaluate submissions • What makes a strong query or proposal • Traditional vs hybrid vs indie publishing pathways • Mistakes authors make when approaching agents • How to position your book for the right publishing path If you're writing a book to grow your impact, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss.
