Yo so I made a video the other day just rambling about something that's been on my mind... the whole idea around not releasing music. Holding on to it too long. Waiting on it to be perfect.
And here's the thing I realized while I was talking it out... perfection was never really the goal. What we're actually scared of is the criticism. But people gonna criticize it whether it's perfect or not, so that was never a good enough reason to sit on it in the first place.
The haters we're scared of... they don't even know the music exists yet. We haven't released it. They're loud in our head but they're not even real yet, you know what I mean.
And real talk, you weren't made to impact everybody. Just the people who'll actually grow with you. Some artists gonna ride with you from the very beginning of your journey all the way to the end, and those are the ones you're making it for.
The sooner you let something go, the sooner you get to live in the fruit of it. People impacted. You growing. Both of that starts the same day you hit release, not the day it's "perfect."
So stop trying to perfect one song and start trying to get better across the whole catalog. Do your part. Let the people who need it go find it.
What's sitting in your folder right now that just needs to go? Drop it below, I wanna see it 👇
