Yesterday I shared how things slowly shifted for me in my 40sโ€ฆ
Today I want to talk about two of the biggest hormones behind that:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Estrogen (estradiol)
๐Ÿ‘‰ Progesterone
These are often the first to change in perimenopause.
And honestlyโ€”for me, it was all of it.
Weight gain (especially in my belly)
Mood changes
Low energy
Trouble sleeping
Hot flashes
I just didnโ€™t feel like myself.
Hereโ€™s whatโ€™s happening (in simple terms):
Progesterone starts to drop first โ†’ this can affect sleep and how calm you feel
Estrogen starts fluctuating โ†’ this can impact mood, energy, and how your body stores fat
๐Ÿ‘‰ Itโ€™s not just โ€œlowโ€โ€ฆ itโ€™s inconsistent
๐Ÿ’œ A few simple things that can help support your body:
โœ”๏ธ Prioritize protein (especially earlier in the day)
โœ”๏ธ Strength train a few times a week
โœ”๏ธ Create a consistent sleep routine
โœ”๏ธ Get morning sunlight + move your body daily
Nothing extremeโ€”just consistent.
