Selling in probate before settlement?

Hi guys, working towards my first deal at the moment. Earlier while cold calling a probate list, I came across a lead that just inherited a property, he expressed that he'd like to sell it today if he could but he'd need to wait for the estates to finish settling first. I believe I've heard that there's cases where the probate property can be sold prior to estates settling. Appreciate any insight/help.
