As A web designer/developer.
A web design/development freelancer’s job for me is to deliver a site that:
- Looks good → clean, professional, trustworthy design(I got credit for this one).
- Works well → speed, responsiveness, accessibility, bug-free(Deploy from Github).
- Communicates clearly → web copy that answers the visitor’s questions (AEO mindset).
- Has the basics in place → technical/on-page SEO, schema, structure, CTAs.
That’s the foundation. That’s what I SHOULD be mainly focused on.
HOWEVER I draw the line at:
- Running paid ads (Google, Meta, etc.).
- Driving ongoing "traffic" campaigns.
- Managing email list growth at scale.
I don't make assumptions on guarantying off page traffic or leads IF I have NOT done so myself. That's not my job; its up to the client. Don't make that same mistake.
Sorry if I have posted this one before but I needed to get this off my mind for awhile now.
