Introducing: The Vizzy D Resource Library 📚
I've been wanting to build this for a while, and it's finally here. The *Vizzy D Resource Library* is a shared space of books, podcasts, documentaries, readings, newsletters and accounts that have shaped how we think about death, grief and ceremony, built by this community, for this community. You can find it in the Classroom tab. It's not a list I've put together alone. It's meant to grow with whatever's actually shaping your practice right now, the book that changed how you show up with a family, the podcast episode you've sent to three colleagues, the poem you keep coming back to for readings. Inside you'll find a growing library of: 📖 Books 🎧 Podcasts 🎥 Documentaries & Films 🕊️ Poems & Readings ✍️ Newsletters & Substacks 🌐 Organisations & Websites 🎓 Courses & trainings 🎵 Playlists Comment below with all your suggestions! Just include what it is, who it's by, and one honest line on why it stuck with you. We're not after exhaustive lists here, we're after the things that actually changed how you think or work. This is one of those small, ongoing things I hope becomes genuinely useful over time. Curious to see what this community pulls together... Only love, Amy 🐦‍⬛

Social Media: Let’s all find each other out there 🐦‍⬛
Death care content can feel like shouting into the void sometimes - especially in the early days, especially on platforms that don’t always love what we talk about. So let’s make it a little less lonely… Drop your handles below - Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, wherever you’re showing up - and let’s go find each other. Follow, engage, share what moves you. This is how we build something together. 🐦‍⬛ I’ll go first: Insta - https://www.instagram.com/amyfirthministry TT - https://www.tiktok.com/@aussiedeathcarelady Facebook - www.facebook.com/amyfirthmusic The Visible Death Worker: https://www.instagram.com/visibledeathworker https://www.tiktok.com/@visibledeathworker Amy x

Imposter Syndrome
Even after working as a funeral director for 16 years, and a death doula for 3, when I hear a perspective client's story for the first time, I STILL freeze for a moment and wonder "what is it I do again?" Can anyone else relate? What do you do to regain your confidence?
🐦‍⬛ Visible Fridays #28: A Picture Paints A Thousand Words & I Aint Gatekeeping
Vizzy Ds! I've stumbled upon a GOLD MINE of imagery and I'm not gatekeeping it because I love each & every one of you & YOU GUYS DESERVE IT ALL. We all know Unsplash as the go-to place for royalty-free imagery. Our good friends at DEAD GOOD have their own suite of exquisite funeral images for us all to use freely. Good Funeral Guide has some lovely ones too. But I've got TWO new discoveries for you that have opened up a whole new world of imagery, illustrations and creative possibilities. And they're FREE. 🐦‍⬛ 1. RAWPIXEL - www.rawpixel.com/public-domain Oh. My. Goodness. Rawpixel has an enormous public domain collection of imagery, sourced from historical archives, museums and original collections, with loads of beautiful material that's been digitised and made available to use. You can search for pretty much ANYTHING and explore different types of content. My absolute favourite trick? Filter by ART. Actual artworks. Paintings. Botanical illustrations. Portraits. Historical images. The sort of beautiful, interesting imagery that can bring an entirely different feel to your funeral stationery, social media, presentations and order of service designs. And there's more! You can also explore VIDEO. Hello, free B-roll! Looking for something to use behind a reel? Want an atmospheric visual for a post? Need something a little more interesting than another stock photo of a bunch of hands holding a candle? Get yourself over there. (A little licensing reminder: Make sure you're specifically selecting images marked Free Public Domain CC0 rather than assuming everything on Rawpixel is free for every use. Check the individual licence, particularly if you're using something commercially.) 🐦‍⬛ 2. THE HERITAGE LIBRARY - www.heritagetype.com/pages/free-vintage-illustrations FREE vintage illustrations for your creative projects!
