£250 GIVEAWAY: I’ll pay for your next build
There are 359 of us in here now. A month ago there were none!! 🤯 I wanted to mark that with something better than a giveaway. Handing a bit of kit to a name I’ve ‘picked out of a hat’ seems lazy. So here's what we're doing instead. TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT TO BUILD AND I’LL PAY FOR IT 💰 Seriously, I'm putting in £250 of my own cash to sponsor our winners’ builds - covering the tools, hardware, and accessories they need to turn their idea into reality. WHAT QUALIFIES It doesn’t matter if it’s a personal project, a work problem, or a daft desk gadget. If it's a physical thing you want to exist and you'd build it with AI writing the code, it counts. One rule on scope: it has to be a single build. Not "make my whole house smart" with six blind controllers, a sprinkler system, and a room full of lights. One idea, one device, one thing that works at the end. WHAT YOU WIN - I buy the hardware and get it sent to you (I’ll order ‘locally’ within your country of residence, to ensure things arrive quickly) - We get on a Zoom and build it together WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO DO - Post your progress in this group as you go. The wins and the bits where it falls apart. We’re all gonna want to see it. - Let me use your photos and clips on Instagram. - Actually build the thing. The kit turns up, the build happens, and you don’t disappear! 🫠 🚨 HOW TO ENTER 🚨 Start your own post in this new community category (Sponsored build competition). Not a reply on this one - your own post, so everybody can see it and back it later. You entry *must* include: 1. What you want to build, and what it's for 2. Why you want it to exist 3. What hardware you reckon you need (rough is fine, I'll help you work it out) 4. Roughly what that costs 5. Where you're at: never touched hardware / messed about a bit / fairly comfortable That last one matters. I'm not just picking the fanciest idea, I want a spread across people who are starting from nothing and people who are already going. If you don't know what hardware you need, enter anyway and put "no idea" for 3 and 4. That is what the clinic below is for.

Spotify controller build added to 'Classroom' section
Morning Vibe Hardware crew! I've just added the parts and prompt breakdown for the 'Spotify controller' to the "Classroom" section in here: https://www.skool.com/vibe-hardware-9276/classroom/11241ef4 I'd originally planned to drop it in there on Monday, but yesterday's reel has 'blown up' (albeit on a very small scale) and we've had an influx of new members - so I wanted to make sure the stuff was in there as I promised! If you build one - I want to see pics!!

Start here (and tell me what you want to build)
Welcome to the club. Quick version of why this place exists: everyone's using AI to build software, and I think most of them are missing the more interesting move... For less than 50 quid you can buy a little computer, plug it in, and have Claude write the code to make it do genuinely useful stuff. No soldering. No electronics background. I'd know, I haven't got one. I run a marketing agency. Six months ago I couldn't have built any of this. Right now there are devices on my desk that: - Show my Claude Code usage so I can see it working - Scroll through my calendar, the weather, and a client's live ad numbers - Play a fanfare when that client makes a sale (easily the best feature I've built) I'm five devices in and I'm documenting everything here as I go: what I buy, what it costs, what breaks, the prompts I use, the code Claude writes, all of it. The builds that fail go up too, because that's where the actual lessons are. I'm not an expert. I'm maybe three weeks ahead of you. That's the point of the club: work it out in public, together. Do these two things now: 1. Drop a comment introducing yourself: who you are and what you'd put on a little screen on YOUR desk if you could. Best answer gets built on camera. 2. Turn on notifications for this group so you catch the builds as they land. Fish

Saturday mornings have changed
Vibe Coded a light switch and Alexa skill. Next iteration will be four buttons for different areas of the house. I mean you can just say Alexa turn on lights but it would have a cockerel noise would it?!

Saturday mornings have changed
Stream Deck?
Has anyone created a device like a stream deck? I might do that next as it will be a bit more useful than my previous build. I could also create a switch panel for smart plugs and lights as the fam seem incapable of instructing Alexa!
