Module 3 placement question

Hi, I’m trying to reconcile Module 3’s neck placement with the device manuals. The US-1000 manual says: “DO NOT use over the carotid sinus nerves, arteries, laryngeal or pharyngeal muscles.” The US Pro 2000 manual says: “DO NOT use over the carotid sinus nerves or arteries, laryngeal or pharyngeal muscles.”

Since the cervical vagus runs beside the carotid artery, how does the recommended placement avoid those structures?
