Step by Step Drawing
I'm thinking it would be nice for people to see how I get my sketches underway. I've created a step-by-step instruction and the only place I could find to create it was in the classroom. So there's a new lesson in the classroom and it's my step-by-step instructions on how I created the sound shell drawing. #Step by Step - Napier Sound Shell

New member intro
I've been painting on & off for decades. In the last 3yrs I've become interested in Urban Sketching. I just like an excuse to go outside & focus. Not overly interested in "getting good", just doing it for pleasure & am curious what/how other people draw

Scanning Sketchbooks
i used to photograph my sketches and post them as I did them and i have written about that before and my concern then other people might try to take those images and reuse them as their own, especially on some of the public social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. However, for my own benefit I have been scanning my images to 600 DPI to try to get a high-quality image of all of my sketches. It takes awhile to do this and I do have a dedicated printer scanner that does this for me. The trick of course is to make sure that you hold the paper down and let the machine do its job. I use this machine (Brother MFC J6940DW) for scanning. this is an A4/A3 printer and scanner, which I need for architectural drawings and scans. I also have a specialist A4 photo/slide scanner that scans up to 2400dpi, but i'm happy with the scans I have. have a look at the images below, do you think they show the sketch and the texture of the paper?
