The fastest way to warm up a cold list (works in any niche)
Most people scrape a list, blast one email, and quit when nobody replies. Here's what actually works: 1. Verify the list FIRST. Bounces wreck your deliverability faster than bad copy ever will. 2. Make email #1 a "no ask" email. One line of value, zero pitch. You're training the inbox (and the human) to trust you. 3. Follow up 3-5 times. Most replies come on touch 2 or 3, not touch 1. One-and-done is leaving money on the table. 4. Reply fast when someone bites. Speed = trust. A small, verified list with tight follow-up beats a giant list with one blast. Every time. The 3-2-1 Rule Before You Hit Send
Most cold email campaigns don't fail because of bad copy. They fail before you ever hit send — because of a dirty list. Quick rule I run before every campaign goes out: 3 checks — verify every email (syntax, domain, mailbox). Anything flagged "risky" gets cut. No exceptions. 2 segments minimum — split your list by job title or industry. One-size-fits-all messages are delete magnets. 1 goal per email — one offer, one CTA. Not three links and a novel. Do this and your bounce rate drops, replies climb, and your domain reputation stays clean — which is what keeps you out of spam next month, not just this one.
