- Google launches Flight Deals, an AI-powered experiment inside Google Flights that surfaces low-cost itineraries without requiring a set destination. Users type trip descriptions like “countryside weekend with kayaking,” and the tool returns matching flight options.
- The system filters by activities, flight duration, or broad themes and mixes expected hotspots such as the Bahamas with less obvious cities like Cluj-Napoca. The beta rolls out only in the US and Canada and appears both on a dedicated page and within standard Google Flights results.
- Early queries deliver both unexpected gems and glaring misses, such as Miami for a short tropical getaway from Orlando or no results for a cherry blossom trip to Japan. The mixed performance positions the tool as inspiration for budget-minded travelers rather than a fully reliable planner, aligning with its “experiment” status.

What do you think?
