xCoaches and Athletes - I am excited to invite you to go for gold in June 2026 as part of our 43rd Alabama State Games.
Our event is unique as it features an Olympic Style Opening Ceremony and a two-day tournament played on some of the best turf fields in Jefferson County.
This year's tournament - under the direction of Michael McLeskey - will cap at 100 teams. Although - depending on facilities - we may be able to expand that number to around 124.
Registration Fee: $395
4GG / Double Elimination
8U-18U (High School Open)
Opening Ceremony - June 12 inside the Legacy Arena at the BJCC
Play Dates - June 13-14 - Gardendale / Trussville / Vestavia (overflow) - 22 diamonds in total - Turf
We also have a hotel partner that's brand new for 2026: https://www.apogeetravel.com/
So what makes our event different from other summer tournaments and competitions? That's a great question. Our tournament is one of 20-plus sports going on the weekend of June 12-14, creating what essentially is Alabama Olympics. In 2025, we had 19 states represented and more than 4,200 athletes.
As you can see from the video we offer.a complete experience beyond showing up at the ballpark. The highlight of our Opening Ceremony - and one of the key reasons to attend - is our scholarship initiative. Since the program's inception, we've awarded nearly $500,000 in academic scholarships to athletes of all ages. In 2025, we gave away 34 scholarships (including two for $5,000) for $42,000. In 2026, that number will jump to $43,000.
The scholarships are held in trust at the ASF Foundation - our parent nonprofit - and can be used to attend any 2-year / 4-year, trade or technical school. We subscribe to the mindset that success is not a one-size fits-all mentality. In the Games, everyone has a chance to go for gold.
I've attached a flyer with tournament and scholarship info, and another showing all of the sports that are tentatively on offer during the 43rd Alabama State Games.
If you have questions, comments or concerns, don't hesitate to contact me. Either give me a call or shoot me a text. I love talking about our event and am excited to have your teams join us in June.

WHAT ARE THE ALABAMA STATE GAMES?
The Alabama State Games are organized by the ASF Foundation, founded at the request of the U.S. Olympic Committee in 1982 to create Olympic-style, state-level events. Our first Games were held in 1983 at Auburn with just four sports and 600 athletes. Fast forward to 2024: we just completed our 42nd edition, featuring more than 20 sports and over 4,000 athletes of all ages and skill levels. Beyond medals and memories, our mission is deeply rooted in academic and athletic achievement. Through our Scholarship Initiative, we’ve awarded 647 scholarships totaling nearly $460,000—empowering athletes to succeed both on the field and in the classroom.
