HIS REAL MESSAGE: "Hit as good as you can. Get to whatever level you can get to. Get you confident, satisfied, and performing at a level you're happy playing baseball." THE REAL GOAL: ✓ Build self-confidence ✓ Build honest self-image ✓ Help them be honest with themselves ✓ Celebrate when they exceed expectations ✓ Help them enjoy the game Coach Weissman's Advice to Young Coaches: "Understand your players. What do they dream of? What are they capable of? See if you can get them to be a little bit more than either of you thought." Be honest. Be real. Build the player, not the hype.
