Coach's Spotlight - Coach Todd Cabrera
Coach Todd Cabrera's biggest goal isn't winning championships. It's creating awesome human beings. He says: "I'd way rather give kids a safe place to develop than say we won 1000 games this year." His program focuses on what he calls "Living Valor Above the Line." Every day at the end of practice, he asks kids: "Are you living Valor above the line?" Above the line means: β’ You're meeting the standards we set β’ You're meeting the standards you set for yourself β’ You're bringing the juice to practice β’ You're bringing the juice to your teammates Below the line means: β’ You're coming up short β’ You're not going to class β’ You're not getting assignments turned in β’ You're not showing strong character His goal for every kid: Leave here as a better human being than when you arrived. Because at the end of the day, they won't remember the wins and losses. They'll remember how you made them feel. They'll remember if you believed in them when nobody else did. That's the real game.
