Hi traders, Ross here 👋 Yesterday, Pressure Box caught the gold sell-off for +3R. Today it flagged the opposite: a long. How today played out - Inside Day on Monday: gold went into compression at the start of the week - Route B: price broke the low of the range, got pulled back inside, and Pressure Box signalled the long above the VWAPs - Two targets: first the opening range high, then a 100% range expansion of the Inside Day - Result: gold hit the 100% range expansion target in the New York session ✅ The takeaway We’re not married to a direction. Yesterday bearish, today bullish. Same rules, same process. We follow price, wait for the setup and act when the rules line up. 📍 And one I didn’t take Pressure Box also signalled a move on natural gas, and it worked. I passed on it because it came out of the news and there were too many levels in the way. I don’t trade news. I trade my setups, and that wasn’t one of mine. Today’s trades - Gold (XAUUSD): +3R ✅ The setup lined up, I followed the rules, and price hit the range expansion target. - S&P 500 (ES): -1R ❌ I jumped in too early and didn’t follow my own rules. A mistake, plain and simple. - ES second entry: breakeven ➖ More disciplined this time, finished flat. Net result: +2R on the day. 🧠 The lesson? Discipline is everything. The -1R was completely avoidable. The strategy wasn’t the problem; my execution was. That’s exactly why a set of rules matters, and why I’m building them into Pressure Box. It’s not about catching every move.
