Mindset of recovery
The same way playing a sport requires a certain mindset to stay on top, overcoming chronic pain requires a certain mindset to overcome oneself. Overcoming oneself is the first and greatest victory. In particular, labelling, understanding and pushing through the mental barricade of fear and shame, amongst other emotions. You first have to BELIEVE that there is better out there. Take your step!

Understanding Pain…
In order to understand pain, you have to understand a little about how the brain works. Pain is not equal to the sensations perceived in the body. Pain is a totally subjective experience, that is individual to each one of us. Your beliefs, attitudes, fears, and thoughts all affect pain. Learning to uncover the layers of your psyche is paramount to overcoming. What have you learned so far about yourself on your journey? Regardless of where you are in it?

Did you workout today?
You know you gotta, if you’re in pain you need to move. Strength training is great but I ran 5k today, and general cardio gets enough endorphins flowing to make you feel good. It sucked, but it was also great. 💪🏼 If you can’t fly, run If you can’t run, walk If you can’t walk, crawl Get your a$$ out of the house!!!

Welcome…
This is a mentorship group for both people suffering with chronic pain, and people who have overcome it. Most people who have overcome pain have it in them to pay it forward, and this is the place to do it. Reach out to someone that resonates with you — mentor or mentee.
