We have big range of different types of developers here, but what is the first step you take when designing a new game?

What do you think about randomness? (Poll)
I personally love some randomness in games because it gives me a new experience each time, I don't think I mind it in almost all aspects of a game. I think roll and move is probably the one i could live without but the rest im on board with.
