For a long time, I thought I was doing everything right.
I showed up in groups.
I joined communities.
I went to events.
I posted online.
I stayed “visible.”
But underneath all of it was a pattern I couldn’t see.
I was waiting.
Waiting for someone to notice me.
Waiting for someone to recognize how special I was.
Waiting for life to hand me the moment I thought I deserved.
And the mind is clever.
It will make waiting look like progress.
It will tell you that being present is the same as participating.
That hoping is the same as creating.
That circling the thing you want is the same as moving toward it.
But I wasn’t moving forward.
I was spinning in place.
I worked hard.
I stayed busy.
I did all the “right” things.
And still, there was very little to show for it.
Everything changed when I stopped looking outside myself for permission.
I chose to see myself as valuable.
Gifted.
Purposeful.
Abundant.
I stopped waiting and started choosing myself.
I stopped acting like someone else held the authority over my life.
They never did.
No one holds a higher authority over your life than you.
So if you’ve been feeling unseen…
If you’ve been wondering when it will finally be your turn…
Maybe it starts the moment you stop waiting for someone else to hand you the turn.
Maybe it starts when you claim it for yourself.
What are you no longer willing to wait for?
