Most people spend their lives complaining about the darkness instead of lighting a candle.
They focus on everything that’s wrong in their life:
The economy.
Their boss.
Their partner.
Their luck.
Their past.
Their competitors.
Their timing.
As though somehow complaining long enough will magically make the room brighter.
It won’t.
I’ve spoken before about controlling the controllables.
Focusing your energy on the things you can influence instead of wasting your life wrestling with the things you can’t.
Yet so many people still default to blame instead of responsibility.
Because complaining is easy.
Responsibility is hard.
It’s easier to point at the darkness than it is to admit you’ve done nothing to create light. 🕯️
Every time someone says something can’t be done, somebody else overtakes them doing exactly that.
Every time someone explains why they’re struggling, there are people with bigger problems, less money, less support and less opportunity… still finding a way forward. 💥
That’s not cruelty.
That’s reality.
At some point you have to step back.
Step up.
Wake up.
Stop bitching about your life whilst refusing to change your behaviours.
If you keep doing what you’ve always done, thinking what you’ve always thought, surrounding yourself with the same negativity and avoiding difficult decisions, your world stays dark.
Not because life is against you.
Because you’re refusing to light the candle.
But the moment you take responsibility, something shifts. ⚡
The moment you act on the things you CAN change instead of obsessing over the things you can’t, the light starts to come in:
Confidence grows.
Momentum grows.
Opportunities appear.
Your whole world starts changing. 🚀
People sometimes think I’m being unreasonable when I say:
“You’re one decision away from growth.”
“You’re one decision away from doubling your business.”
“You’re one decision away from changing your life.”
But I know it’s true because I’ve lived it.
And because years ago, my own mentor said the same thing to me:
“When you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, you’ll finally take the action you need to take.”
So stop complaining about the darkness.
🕯️ Light some candles.
