Radiation Protection Training - What’s right for you? (3/4)
NukeForce Solutions:
NukeForce Solutions is a company that offers RP training courses. They are 5-Week In-Person courses at their place in New York.
From what I’ve seen these courses are around $15,000, but they do offer financing.
You take the FUN 1 and test and do evaluations on the NISPs needed to be a task qualified junior in this 5 week course.
Their training is much more in-depth than Westinghouse’s and you get much more practice before you go out into outages. Just recently we started getting some techs that have gone through this course and their knowledge is impressive for people working their first outages.
PROS:
✅Offers a much more hands on experience
✅Better for people who learn better from in-classroom as opposed to self study
✅Gives new JRs more skills and knowledge to begin with
✅Generally a lot easier to get into (since you’re paying)
CONS:
❌Expensive, costing $15,000
❌You can get the same qualifications from Westinghouse for free
