Radiation Protection Training - What’s right for you? (1/4)
I’ve seen that there are many people here that want to get into RP and there are a few different ways that you can!
Westinghouse RP Training:
Offers a free training course. You self study and take practice tests online and, when they see you are passing the tests online, they will have you come to their facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee to do a 1-Week In-Person course and take your FUN 1 and NISP Qualifications to be a task qualified junior. You will pay for your own travel and lodging.
This is what a majority of people end up going through.
PROS:
✅It’s Free
✅Good for Self-Studiers
✅Generally gets you placed into outages as a Junior Tech right away
CONS:
❌Westinghouse can be hard to reach to get into the classes or answer questions
❌If you are not good at self-studying and require more classroom style instruction you may face more difficulty
