Possible Titles for Long Form Video
  • Looking for a last minute costume? No Problem! A quick n easy (Halloween) costume & makeup tutorial
  • Beginner friendly (Halloween) costume & makeup on a budget!
  • Thrifted (Halloween) costume & makeup tutorial
  • 5-step fun & easy (Halloween) costume!
I put halloween in parenthesis because when it’s not the spooky season, I can remove it from the title so it’s evergreen rather than tentpole... other title ideas and suggestions are more than welcome!
*Intro*
Looking for a quick and easy guide to creating a fun costume look? Look no further! Today, I’m gonna show you how to create an easy and fun costume look, without breaking the bank! *curiosity gap*
*Choosing an Outfit on a Budget*
First, we’re gonna start with the outfit… Do you have a piece of clothing sitting in your closet that you bought a while back with the idea of one day wearing it for a special occasion? But it’s mostly been collecting dust because you only wore it once, if at all? Well here’s your moment! Go grab it!
Alternatively, choose a piece that simply sparks joy! Or, if you have a little extra time (and money) head to your local thrift store and find the flashy piece of clothing that fits/makes you feel confident. Think of something you may feel is “too much” to wear on a regular day. But remember, don’t break the bank! Try to keep it under $10-15.
What are the prominent features of this piece you chose? What are the main colors? We’re gonna use this for inspiration for the make-up.
*Makeup on a Budget*
Next, if you don’t already have make-up, you’re gonna need to go to your nearest pharmacy to grab some basics (as listed on the screen)… reminder, we’re not trying to break the bank, so the cheaper the better!… I’m not getting paid to advertise, so I’m not naming specific brands… but again, the cheaper the better!
* White or the lightest shade of foundation (or concealer) you can find we’re gonna go for a clown look to create a mask effect.
* Primer
* Black liquid eye liner
* Red liquid lip stick
* An eye shadow palette with some shade of brown, red, and colors that match the piece you chose….
* You’ll also need make up sponges, brushes, and baby powder. The cheaper the better!
Once you’re gotten your outfit and materials, it’s time to start putting the look together!
*Set the Mood*
This next step is optional, but definitely elevates the experience - find/make a playlist of your favorite songs to dance to! Turn your bathroom into your own personal night club while you get ready!
*Creating the Look*
Before we get started, quick reminder: There are no rules when putting on makeup! Everyone’s face is different, so what works on mine might not work on yours. That’s ok. This is all about fun and expression. There are no mistakes, only lessons! The steps I take honestly change slightly every time I do it, because I’m trying new techniques and finding what works for my face. Feel free to experiment too! And if you don’t like it, it’s ok to start again! (Everything I learned about makeup, I learned from drag queens! Check them out too… after you finish this video lol)
1. Prep & tone your face
2. Apply foundation/concealer base w/ sponge
3. Outline nose contour
4. Eye shadow
5. Blush/contour cheeks
6. Powder face
7. Outline lips with black liner
8. Fill in lips with red
9. Style hair as desired and put on your outfit!
*Conclusion*
And there you have it!... Lastly, come up with a fun name for this alternate version of you (share that name in the comments)!
And remember that you don’t have to wait for that one time a year to have fun and experiment with your clothes and makeup!
If you enjoyed this, give it a thumbs up! And if you want more whimsical good times and vibes, subscribe! Kthanksbye!
