High school reunion lessons
I’m hosting/ planning my high school reunion.
It’s crunch time.
My Goal is 40 tickets sold and it’s so much harder than I thought it would be.
Im at like 30 with 4 days left.
Actions:
• i put out a survey seeing who was originally interested and got about 33 responses.
And most people probably did didn’t see it.
• I’m posting in the Facebook group trying to build excitement around the event.
• I’m DMing all the members individually, following up with people who expressed original interest. I’m getting ghosted, but I don’t care. I need a response!!
• I’m asking people who are already signed up and paid to try and invite and get 2 to 3 more people to come with them.
• I went into people’s Facebook accounts and looked at all mutual friends to see if those people are missing and DMing those people.
• I found another group. He became a part of that group and posted in there.
• Saw some people posted about the reunion. I went on their profiles and invited them.
• I just posted a story on my Instagram.
I’m not done.
• I’m gonna be messaging people who haven’t responded.
• Still asking other people to post in the group and talk about how they’re excited to go.
The point is no matter what you’re trying to do…It’s gonna take so much more effort than you think and so much more action than you think.
Not even close did I think it was gonna be this hard to sign up 40 people … I didn’t think I was gonna have to put this kind of effort at all… I was wrong.
This is the type of activity that you need to have and need to be doing when you are trying to grow something.
Yes, it’s a ton of work while you’re growing, but the work you do to help people, is so needed!!
and if you are the best and what you do, you truly believe that if somebody goes somewhere else and get services from somebody else beside you, that they will not be getting served as well as they could… then you have duty to make sure people know who you are, to make sure people know what you do, and to make sure people know why they would be best served by you.
I hope this inspires you get after it!
