Because I Must.

I saw a discussion category called, "What's Your WHY?!" and so this is my why.

I must.

I feel compelled to write and think and probe and challenge. I tried for years to suppress it and find other creative outlets, but nothing was ever quite right.

I need to be able to pull my thoughts together. I need to be able to share them. I need to think deeply and get feedback from others.

That's why I write. I am a writer. I tried being a YouTuber, a podcaster, a Sergeant, a comedian, a pastor, a teacher, and so many other things, but none of them let my soul flourish. All of them required me to suppress a major part of my nature.

So, that's my why.

Will I be a best seller one day? Don't know. Will anyone ever read my essays or stories? Don't care. Will I change the world with my writing? Doesn't matter, and that't not the point anyway.

I write because I'm a writer.
