Now, writing can be difficult. 😣 But what can help you stay with it is remembering your why. This can help you during those tough times. It can also drive you forward. So, share your why that gives you the spark to share your story! ✍️ Then, tell us about your story! 📖

Any readers?
I finished the first chapter of my novel, Catfish Air. Is anyone interested in reading it and offering constructive feedback?
In Just in Two Days!
I’m getting so excited to share with you all! I know that I’ve been talking about it quite a lot for the past few weeks and there’s a reason to it! Writing stories is just one way to share your story. Another great way is to get on a stage with sharing your story! Nowadays publishing companies want the authors to have more of a presence online and off. So learning how to use the stage is a great skill to work on as you work on your book, before or after it’s finished. ✅ These two things can go hand and hand! That’s why @Chris Hanlon and I came together to create this wonderful interactive workshop, Turn your Story into Authority. ⭐️ What You'll Walk Away With ⭐️ This isn't a workshop where you'll sit quietly taking notes for two and a half hours. You'll actually experience what storytelling feels like. You'll... ✔ Discover why confidence isn't the starting point. ✔ Learn why facts rarely create action. ✔ Quiet the inner critic that keeps your story hidden. ✔ See how one experience can become your book, your talk, your content, and your message. ✔ Get a first look at our Story First Method. By the end... You'll never look at your experiences the same way again. Come apply today! 📅 Thursday, August 6 💲 $97

Accepting Feedback
I shared the first chapter of my novel, Catfish Air with this group, and mine, and some friends, and got excellent feedback. The best part is that I got proper, constructive feedback. Not a single person said, "Oh, gosh-golly-gee-wow mister, this is swell!" Every reader said things like, "These parts are great, but that didn't work for me," or "I like this a lot, but this bit didn't make sense," or even, "Please delete this entire section - it's way too much!" And guess what? I took it all to heart. Not in a bad way. I mean I took is seriously. I genuinely went back and reviewed what I'd written and incorporated the feedback, and I think I cracked the code! Up until now, I'd had the POV and the voice all wrong. It was too stiff like I was a puppeteer with some marionettes and describing what people were doing. Not gonna lie...it kind of sucked. But now I zoomed in, stepped inside a character, share back stories as I go along which allows me to avoid cardboard cut-out characters. Thank you all so much for your feedback! And, if you're interested, I've attached the new version of the first chapter. Fair warning...there's one character who is VERY inappropriate toward women - but give him some grace because it's all part of his character arc. @Karen Dennis @Wolfram Grohnert @Justin Yip @Shirley-Louise Daniels
