🗞️ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
As I mentioned last week, Skool is running ads on many social media platforms for communities like ours. In many ways, this is AMAZING—but it does come with a few challenges.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve noticed an increase in membership requests that range from slightly suspicious to downright sketchy. Skool does a good job filtering many of these requests and flagging accounts that seem questionable. However, they don’t catch everything.
I’ve denied a handful of membership requests just this week, but ultimately I have no way of knowing a person’s true intentions. My goal is to keep this community a safe, welcoming place where we can freely chat, learn, and encourage one another in this amazing hobby.
Sooooo… I’m asking everyone for a couple of favors to help keep our community safe:
1️⃣ Please do not share personal information that you would prefer to keep private.
2️⃣ If someone sends you a private message through Skool and it feels “off,” spammy, or inappropriate, please do not respond—and let me know right away.
Of course, if someone is sincerely reaching out about something we’ve been discussing in the community, use your best judgment. Trust your gut. If something feels off, please let me know.
3️⃣ Help me keep an eye on things. With our community growing, I can’t see everything. If you notice something unusual, questionable, or just plain weird, send me a message so I can take a look.
💬 Sewing Quote of the Week:
“When in doubt, stitch it out.” 🧵
